Arrival Story:
When I was looking for a service dog I knew that I wanted a sheltie. The only thing is, Jake is not what I was looking for. I wanted a female, tri-colored and a puppy. What I got was a male, almost 2 years old and sable in color. The day that I found out that he was supposed to be with me was the day that I wanted to commit suicide. I put my face into all that hair and started bawling. His heart rate went from pounding out of his chest, to so calm I stopped crying. I figured out that Jake knew what he was here for me for. He has been by my side and never leaves it since then. He also can detect seizures before they happen. Jake did that with someone on my prayer group.

Bio:
My mom will be giving a speech at the September, 2006 Trigeminal Neuralgia Conference in Portland, OR on Service Dogs and why people with TN and other facial pain need a Service Dog!!
