Arrival Story:
Kuruk was purchased from a breeder and lived with a family for about 2 months...He developed a fear of strangers and wouldn't come out around anyone else besides "his" humans...A trainer told them he wasn't easily going to be helped..They gave him to a couple who wanted to love him so much...They tried all they could but he wouldn't come out around the man and would shy away from company..A trainer told them also he was unfixable and should be put down( all because of being scared?? 4 months old?????)....so after 2 weeks they needed to find him a home because they knew they weren't able to help...I recieved an email and they brought him here...He has been here only 1 week and he has made such amazing progress!!! He loves the kids and is coming out of his timidness! He is eating and playing and thriving! I am so thankful i was able to being him here and help him...He still has a long way to go with company coming into the house but he is no longer hiding! He doesn't greet them just yet but i know in time he will!! He loves his sister Kiara and respects his grumpy brother Kovu!! lol We are in love with him!

Bio:
Kuruk's progress hasn't come very far with anyone but his "own" humans....In the house he is a playful happy pup...Anyone else goes near him and he runs......He is getting somewhat agressive as well....He does still know i'm the boss though...and knows he can't get his way...For now...I am at the point right now where i'm scared about his future ...I will never give up on him ....I think the breeders of these "dogs" should be put out of business...I have been told by many that he has wolf in him which makes total sense with how he behaves....He doesn't have regular doggie traits...And they lie about the shedding and hypoallergenic claims...He shed just as much as my husky...maybe more! I'm not saying that he isn't extremely intelligent and a wonderful companion to me.....But he isn't the family friendly wonderful breed they claim...I feel badly for people buying these dogs not knowing what they are getting themselves into :( Luckily i have a lot of patience and have worked with a lot of dogs before...Most people wouldn't be able to handle him at all.....Oh yeah he has a prey drive like i've never seen....He dragged me accross the lawn and into our fence( umm ya the fence panel was taken down with my head ) for a rabbit...which he just about instantly killed...I take partial blame for this however....I didnt have him on his normal leash because i was tired and ran him out quick to potty...I kinda have a feeling he was getting the rabbit no matter what i did though ...

At first i was scared of this new place....This was my 4th place after the place my mom and dad lived...My new family isn't sure why i'm so scared but they were great! They let me know they were there ....but didn't force me to love them! I found out i have 2 playmates here ( other than the kids who are great chew toys!!!!!) One is Kiara....i LOVE her...she doesn't always love me back cause sometimes bother her when she is sleeping...but sheesh i like to play at all hours!!!Anyway...the other is Kovu...and he is the King! He is so cool! I didnt think he liked me much at first...He always growled and made me stay away...But i broke him down and now we are pals!! My Mommy was crying watching us play ( i think she is a lil too emotional!! ) But i heard her say something about she knew this was gonna work! So lets see....I'm eating really well and getting bigger! I like the food my brother and sister eat so mommy lets me...She also gives us lots of meaty treats and bones! YUMMY!! I go crazy when i see the fridge open!! Mommy gave us eggs the other day...Then she was baking a cake ( something she does a lot and the smell is soooooooo good!!) and i jumped up when she had her back turned and grabbed 1 for myself...She told me that it was naughty!! HMPPHHH!! She let me have 1 then got upset cause i wanted another today....sheesh i wish she would make up her mind! So i'm liking my new home! Mommy says i'm never leaving and she won't ever give me up!!!! At my other places i was scared of men and strangers...i still am but i heard Mommy say i was getting better! I dont hide when that guy comes in...but i dont trust him!! And something was wrong with Mommy's phone and those men looked scary...I stayed under the table by my bed until they left!!!! I am doing really good on my walks Mommy says....I dont pull her hard like i see Kiara do!! I even saw a bike and i wasn't scared! Mommy said good boy! I know i still am scared but i love my mommy and my kids and my brother and sister so much!!! I think i will want to play with others sometime but when i'm ready!! And Mommy says thats ok!! I'm gonna go see what she is making out there and wait for her to turn her back long enough to grab something!! I just chewed her shoes and they dont taste as good as i hoped!
