Arrival Story:
Darby came to live with us when she was only 4 weeks old. She came from a kennel in Northern Idaho (Hayden Lake). She was the runt of the litter, but we loved her crooked mask and feisty attitude.

Darby had to have both of her knees replaced at the age of 7. She just turned 11 years old, and getting along even better than she has in years! She had TPLO surgery performed on both knees by the WSU Veterinary Hospital in Pullman, WA. It is a fabulous hospital and they really care about the animals they treat. Thanks, Dr. Michele Powers! Darby was voted "Pet of the Month" by her Veterinary Clinic in Moscow, in May 2009. She received some fabulous gifts and her name was on the Clinic's sign for the month. We were very proud of her! Darby Girl lost her brother, Joey on October 8th, when she was only six years old. We got her another brother when she was 7, but Dally had complications and died when he was two. She got another brother named Rusty just before Dally died and then added two sisters, Molly and Lexi. Unfortunately, Darby Girl did not make it to her 15th birthday. She went to heaven on Friday, August 2nd, with her Mommy and Daddy by her side. We miss our Darby Girl, but are glad she is no longer in pain. She and Joey and Dally are now reunited and having the time of their lives over the Rainbow Bridge. God Speed, dearest Darby, and until we meet again, may the Lord hold you in the palm of his hand. Love, Mommy, Daddy, Rusty, Molly & Lexi. You will be forever in our hearts.
