Arrival Story:
Update: Daggit earned her Angel Wings on 9/20/11. She bravely fought for TWO YEARS with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). She's my hero, my heartdog. Godspeed, Daggit! My boyfriend and I had just moved into a new house and had been talking about getting a dog for a long time. A co-worker of mine told me about a Puppy Rescue where she got her dog. I looked up the website, and my BF and I saw some really cute Husky mix dogs on their site, so ... we went to check them out. We both knew that, most *likely* we'd end up taking one home. Well, we got there ... looked around ... and saw this cute lil black furball curled up in the back of the pen. She had huge pointy ears! These weren't small crate-type pens; rather, big kennel type enclosures. Most of the dogs were vying for people's attention. Not her. She was just curled up, warm by this little heatlamp in the kennel (it was outside Dec. in Colorado, smart little pup was staying warm!) When we took her to the play area, she immediately took to us ... she already knew how to fetch and catch. We were "sold." (though, we've never quite figured out what "mix of mutts" Daggitt is ... I'm pretty sure she's Aust Shep/Black Lab).

Bio:
"I have a brother named Vegas ... we live in a nice little house with a big yard with lots of room to play and romp around. Vegas is the goofy one, I'm a bit more serious and protective ... but very sweet and affectionate once I get to know you. I LOVE to play outside and chase and catch the ball. I also love to play in the water with the hose after my bath. I can also be very sneaky and stealthy, hehehe. We also have another brother, Kona, who is my mom's boyfriend's dog. He's a Jindo dog and is kind of like a cat in a dog's body. We like him very much! As a side note as to how Vegas and I got here on Dogster ... our mom found another little buddy and named him Monkey ... he shared our home with us for 4 months, but she had to find him a new home ... she advertised Monkey, and his now new owners sent us their Dogster page for their boy, Zorro. So, now .. here we are on Dogster.

Hi there! Thanks for reading. As fellow dog lovers, I'm asking for your help. My dog, Daggit, was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). She had surgery and is now on metronomic chemo protocol. Her prognosis is good with continued treatment; however, I'm unemployed and the treatments are expensive.

Here is her full story on BoneCancerDogs.org: http://www.bonecancerdogs.org/main/hero/324

I've entered her in my local paper's "My Dog's Face" contest ... in hopes of winning the $500 prize. This money will go toward her care and is enough to pay for ONE out of SIX treatments. She needs a lot more votes to win the contest and that is why I'm asking for your help ... and prayers. If we didn't truly need this, I wouldn't solicit this help. She is such a good girl and has so much life left to live.

Here is the link: http://ocregister.upickem.net/engine/Votes.aspx?PageType=VOT ING&incr ementnumber=1

Search her name Daggit ... and you can vote from there! (since the page changes as new dogs are added, I can't post directly to her page).

Please bookmark and come back to vote often! You can vote up to 10 times per minute so ... if you vote, please vote as much as you can!! The contest runs until Oct 7th.

Thank you so, so, so, so much!!

Nicole & Daggit (and brothers Vegas & Kona)

She's the only Daggit ... so, she's easy to find. Thank you!!! Once you've done it once ... it's easy to vote again and again.
