Arrival Story:
The story is very long, so here is the short version: My name is Princess and I am lucky to have a guardian angel. She took care of me as a stray near her office for 9 months and even had me spayed. One day I disappeared. I was missing for 2 months, my angel was beginning to worry that I was lost forever… when I suddenly showed up again at her office! She scooped me up, took me to the vet (I was a bit worse for the wear) and has been fostering me ever since. Unfortunately, her dogs don’t like the idea of another dog in the family, so she has made it her mission to find a home that will take care of me and love me just as much as she does. I am approximately 1 – 1 ½ years old as estimated by her vet. I am a petite (under 50 pounds) female purebred red nose American Pit Bull Terrier full of kisses and love that I must share! I love to have my butt scratched and my belly rubbed. I will coo at you with joy and try to engage you in conversation. I love other dogs and am fantastic with kids. I am in perfect health and would make someone a great running buddy. I am up to date on all of my vaccinations and am heartworm negative. Oh, and I have the prettiest different color eyes- 1 is blue and 1 is brown which means I am very smart. Following are her vital stats: Female Spayed Red nose pit bull One blue eye, one brown Blond and white markings 50 pounds Approx. 1 - 1 1/2 years old as estimated by my vet Gentle and affectionate Loves other dogs A great kisser Fully vaccinated as of 2/3/2006 Started on HW preventative on 2/3/2006 Fully housebroken Knows many commands- sit, stay, come etc... FANTASTIC with kids

Love is a boomerang aka reason 5001 to microchip your pets

A very long story made very short. Princess found her way back to me via her microchip. Previous adopters failed her miserably and a good samaritan found my P wandering a bad area with no collar and no tags. Thank god for microchips or who knows what would have happened to the Princess.

Fast forward... we fostered Princess again, adopted her out, had a human baby, and get updates all the time from her uber fabulous new family. Really, we are all a special kind of extended family these days. Princess has more than she could ever want for and the most inportant thing is that she is loved. Loved so hard, so deeply, and by so many people that it is amazing.

So, in honor of Princess, please stop to rescue that stray dog. You know the one I'm talking about, the one on the side of the road, the one wandering your neighborhood, the one abandoned in the field you pass by, the one you *think* you just don't have time to mess with. That one. Trust me, it's worth it...

That is how long it has been without Miss P in our house. It's quiter, calmer, and quite sad. I see her in her old familiar spots and wish she was really here... but she has a new life before her with a new family who can love her and spoil her as their only dog. In the end I did thw hardest thing I have ever done- I put her needs before my wants. It wasn't easy, and only time will tell, but I think Princess will understand. Regardless of where she is, I know I will always a piece of her with me and I with her.

She is a damn good dog and I hope to one day save another pittie in her honor.

A big shout out to all the Nesties!

Words will never describe how thankful I am to you all for keeping my guardian angel's spirits up while I was trying to find my way back to her. Thank you for investing your time, energy, and love on a pup like me...

Love furever,
Princess
