Best Tricks:
She learned to sit and shake the first day we brought her home. I love training dogs, and she's so smart that I'm going to teach her some really cool tricks and do demonstrations at Humane Society functions to show how wonderful rescued dogs can be.
Arrival Story:
I was on a nearby Indian reservation helping the local humane society with a spay/neuter clinic. The stray dog population there is completely out of control, and the local animal control officer's idea of helping the situation is to shoot any dog he sees without a coller. He shoots several everyday. Rez lived with a pack of dogs in the parking lot where the mobile vet sets up for the clinic, and came running up to me when I arrived. After spending the day there and watching how sweet and gentle she was, I didn't want her to be one of the next ones to be shot. At the end of the day I told her to get in the car and brought her home. I didn't know how she would do with all our little dogs or if we would be able to keep her, but she is a wonderful dog. Sweet, smart and totally devoted to us already. She seemed to know that we saved her. As I was watching her stretched out on our deck napping after a good breakfast the next day, I realized she was here to stay - safe and loved.
