Arrival Story:
We took Muffin home at 10 weeks and thought because she ignored our calling her, it was just "puppy ignorance". Her visit to the Vet confirmed my thoughts, she was deaf. The breeder offered to take her back, but said he would cage her and use her only for breeding. Well that wasn't going to happen! We loved her and would work with the disability. She now knows hand signals for going outside, stay, no-no and working on "fetch". She is super sweet and loves every one who comes here. She loves other dogs and wants to play with them no matter how "Big"--she is 5# 3 0z. The only problem she has had is not being completely potty trained, and training her to bark at the door has not worked, so we take her out every 3-4 hours hoping that will work. No problems through the night, thank goodness, as she's in our bed!! She now loves her baths, enjoys the hair dryer but hates being combed out. She's not to fond of the Vac, can't hear it, but sees it moving and will bark at it. She likes going for a boat ride and checks out every thing around her. Muffin is a pure delight and we wouldn't trade her for anything.

Bio:
Muffin lives with us on the lake with an attached Island. She loves to run around the Island, chase the Geese off and explore every place. This is the only place she can run with out her leash, as there's only one way on/off the Island, and thats where I stand. She is very fast, as those little legs really move, and her being deaf, she would never hear us calling her to come back. She won't go up/down stairs, but the patio is gated just in case and she is on the leash for all walks. She also loves the snow and sticking her nose in it and fliping the snow in the air. Update: Muffin is 1 1/2 yr old now and has a new friend, Rico, who at first didn't know what to do with him. Now they play and chase alot, but she is still Daddy's girl and wants his lap to her self, so the cat just has to move over, or leave. Enjoy the new pictures of 2005.
