I am the new Star of the household!

So, I had my first Rally Obedience trial in November. Mom was pretty stressed, but I don't know why! I know my stuff! Ok, I know why! I wouldn't go down for anything! And then once I would go down, I wouldn't let her walk around me. It made me nervous to have her behind me!

Trial day came, and we went out there, and we wowed them all! We only placed 6th in the Novice run, but we got a 189! But mom was worried cause none of the "hard" (ones I have trouble with) exercises on that course! So she was worried about the trial the next day, which would have all of the other exrecises! Duncan ran in the Excellent run, but he did anything but Excellent! He got the most NQ's for the course that day!

The next day, mom walked the Novice course, and was even more nervous! Everything I have trouble with was out there! So, we went out, ran the course, and came out with a 194 and a second place! Mom was so happy! She had expected me to get low to mid 180. To get high 180, mid 190 was terrific! I am well on my way to getting my Novice title with an MCL on the end! Duncan, once again, did waaaaay less than excellent, and was again the winner of the most NQ's on a course! Oh well, maybe he will be better in the trial in February! I get to run in the February trial if I don't get bred this month!

We had Duncan's scare just before christmas (read his diary for all that info) but all in all, Christmas and New Years was good. We had a big play for New Years with 28 dogs in total! Great fun!

I hope everyone had a good summer. Mine was alright. We spent a lot of time in the car, which I hate. But we got a new car (an SUV really) and there is a lot more space, so I can lay by myself, and no one will bug me!

We met lots of new dogs at the dog beach. We met some greyhounds that had just come to Canada from the UK. They were pretty neat. They sure liked to run. I was totally willing to share my toys with them if it meant I could chase them. But I could never catch them. They were SO fast! But we had a blast. I hope we see them again!

Mom said that we have to go to the opthalmologists in the middle of September since we are going to have puppies. Have to make sure that we don't have any genetic defects that we could pass on that would make our puppies less than desireable. That also means that I have to have my hips xrayed on my 2nd birthday. Duncan has had his done, but he doesn't remember it!

I have been going to CD/CDX classes with Duncan this summer, and mom says that I get to go in a trial next month! Yay! I am excited for the trial, I can do everything perfectly, except anything that has a STAY in it, like the stand for exam, and the long sits and downs. But mom has been working on it with me, I just don't like it when she goes far away. It means that I have to go farther to get the cookie from her! Oh well. Hopefully I will make mommy proud. Daddy says he is proud of me no matter what.

Sniff! Sniff! Sniff!

Ok, so I am in heat right now, and I really don't mind. Things aren't all that different, except mom makes me wear my puppy panties. But that Duncan, he is going to drive me, and mom and dad crazy! He keeps sniffing and licking me, and won't leave me alone. If I lay down, he lays down right behind me, with his nose yo my bum. If I am standing, he is standing. somtimes if I am laying, he does sheltie circles around me, sniffing my bum every time he comes around that way.

Mila is in heat too, and I don't know what it is about her, but I keep trying to dominate her. She doesn't like it, and then we fight, and mom doesn't like it when we fight. Oh well, maybe Mila will learn to let me dominate her!

I just wish Duncan would leave me alone! I can't do anything without him being RIGHT there, sniffing and smelling and watching everything I do! It is enough to drive a doggie to drink!

ewwww, boys

So, today mom and dad took me to see my new prospective boyfriend. Boys are icky! They have cooties! But mom and dad are quite sure that I will have to be around him later for a few weeks! EW! He kept smelling my bumm! And he wouldn't leave me alone, following me everywhere, sniffing me, bugging me. Mom says I will feel different when the time comes, but I don't believe her!

Nutcases galore!

Ok, so if you have seen either my sister's page or my brother's page, you would know that there are three of us, and I am the middle child. Mom keeps saying I have middle child syndrom, but I think it is better to be different. Why conform. Everyone else wants to go EVERYWHERE with mom, but I am quite happy to stay home. Dad is my favorite person, he always has been, ever since I left my mommy. I don't mind strangers, but I don't make a fuss over them like Mila does, and I don't attack them with kisses like Duncan does.

Now, I am unsettled by this talk of baths and going to the groomers. It sounds like the groomers won't be for a bit, cause she is a bit booked up, but we are going to get baths today, cause mom says we smell. Sadly, dad agrees with her. I thought he was on my side, but maybe a few days of the cold shoulder will teach him a lesson. No snuggling for him for 3 days! Well, I guess as long as the scary "blowdryer" is not involved, it won't be too bad. I am just a bit nervous mom will take me to the vets and do to me what they did to Duncan! I think I am safe for a bit cause mom lets me kiss her, when she wouldn't let Duncan, so I think I have good breath.

Ok, mom is pulling out the camera. That is my cue to split. I hate that damned thing. I am sure it shoots death rays or something, so I am outta here!
