Arrival Story:
Our Golden Retriever, Hoosier, became too old to hunt in the fields, so we decided to bring a new dog into the family. While out target shooting at the local range, there was a Lab litter posted on the board and the owner happened to be there. We followed him home and met Lucy's parents and last two syblings. We chose Lucy over her very rambunctious and wild sister because Lucy became a little lump in your arms when you held her. Fall of 2003 was her first season in the field and Hoosier's last season. He got lost in some thick brambles. When Lucy heard my husband calling for Hoosier, Lucy took off and rescued him. Since then, she sticks to him like glue whenever they are outside. She loves Hoosier and will randomly walk up to him and kiss his nose. She only does that to him.

Bio:
June 2004, Lucy started limping on her rear leg after a slip in the kitchen. We found that she had dislocated her knee and tore her ACL. (cha-ching!!!!) She is now recovering from knee surgery and looks like she may even be strong enough for light hunting this fall. She has LOVED her therapy, as it's entailed nightly visits to the lake for swimming. I'm not sure how we will break the news of no more swimming once winter sets in. :(
