Arrival Story:
I adopted Chancey after the death of my doberman, Chloe', in 1998. Chancey weighed about 3 lbs and had never seen grass when we brought him home.
Bio:
Chancey was a very good little guy. He was a wonderful watch dog and kept a good tab on what everyone is doing around the house. He loved to sleep in the bed after daddy went to work. SHHHHH we don't tell daddy those secrets. That was mommy's time alone to cuddle with me!

Chancey passed away today due to a lacerated lung. We're all deeply sadened by his loss! (See diary below)

As many of you already know, Chancey passed away on 1/12/07. He was playing with Tinker, they got a little out of hand, and she appearantly cracked a couple of ribs. This let to a lung laceration. He was doing ok for the first 2 days and we thought with lots of rest and confinement he'd pull through. That was not the case. He took a turn for the worse on Friday and we had to let him go.
It is so very sad to not have our "kids" with us, but it is the kind and humane actions of quality versus quantity that define our humanity. It is our devotion, love and ability to realize our selflessness that help us to endure the hardships of loss.
Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. Chancey was a wonderful little friend. We loved him deeply and miss him greatly. There aren't words to define my love for my baby boy.

Well, today we found out I have lymphoma. Mommy is scared. Not me - I know she'll make me all better. She loves me. She has been on the puter all day researching holistic treatments and diet for me. She said no medicines for me, only good, organic and natural foods for me. Although, my cookies are goin' bye bye. I get some good ones, but not the ones I really like. She said I get to eat REAL meat and chicken. WOW! I'm happy about that. I don't feel yucky, but mom says we want to make sure I never do.
Wish me luck in my fight! If you have the big "C", then you can contact my mommy too! We all need to support each other in the fight.

I love my Chancey. He is a joy for me daily. Chancey's gives me warmth with a cuddle, kisses my tears when I am sad, a bark when he's happy and a growl for protection. Most of all he is my friend. He has never let me down, said an unkind word, loves all my "people" friends equally and is never in a bad mood. Chancey has been with me through the best and worst times of my life. I only hope I have provided him with as much joy as he has given me.
