Arrival Story:
Mom and Dad had gotten a little pup for their protection, to bark and alert them someone might be where they're not supposed to be cause someone came into the house while they slept and stole Mom's purse. Well, Spike needed company so they went to the pound to find a friend for him and there was this big sad basset in jail. He was found wandering out in the country and had been in jail for almost 8 weeks. This was a city jail, not the SPCA and you only get 8 weeks before you're put down. Mom and Dad weren't looking for such a big dog so they went home, but they couldn't get the big sad eyes out of their heads so called the pound early the next morning and said they wanted him. Lucky they called when they did, cause he was being prepared for....oh, I can't say it....anyways, Basil came to live with spike. But Spike got Parvo just after his second shot from the neighbours dog and he passed away. So Mom went looking for a pal for Basil and it just so happened that I had just been born and so Mom came over and picked me from all my brothers and sisters. Basil and I lived in town for 2 years and then we moved to the country where Dad got me a girlfriend, MaeBelle, and we had a couple of families, Mom always made sure all our children went to good homes, ones that would spoil us completely, and Mom also organized the Basset Walk in our city so we had our family reunions at them. We also adopted another basset named DaiseyMae and she lived with us for about 4 years until one our of puppies needed a friend so DaiseyMae went to live with Daisy. Basil passed on 2000 at the age of 14, I unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen and I passed away Nov 2004. MaeBelle came to be with me Jan 2005, and we are buried together under our favorite spruce tree where we loved to lay.
