Arrival Story:
I'm a sweet girl who is only 1 year old. You may remember Cherokee, my identical twin, who was in fact my sister and was recently adopted from foster care. Thats how some people call me Cherokee, we are very hard to tell apart. Well, now I'm here because my family was moving. Unlike my sister, I was an inside girl who is housetrained, good with kids and other dogs. The only catch is I'm a bit shy at first but after I get the chance to know you, I'm fine. I'm very obedient and gentle and sweet and would make any family a great dog. I've been the lucky one to be the "up front" dog and staff has fallen in love. I adore my toys and will toss the ball to you so you can throw it to me. I love sitting in my chair to watch out the window, I'm gentle, loving, know "paw" and never make a peep. Really TERRIFIC dog and perfect for ANYONE!

Valentine (whose name I actually changed to Reese since she looks like a reeses cup) is such a good dog and I couldn't be happier with her! She is such a love bug and is always right by my side! She still is a little timid around the men in my family and I'm not really sure where that is coming from, but gets more and more comfortable every time she is around them. I followed Linda's advice to have them ignore her and let her approach them when she feels like it, so that seems to be working. I have a cat (Athena) and her and Reese get along well- they pretty much just ignore each other. Athena was raised around my parent's doberman, so she learned to stand her ground very quickly and Reese seems to be aware of that! She has played with some of my friends' dogs and seemed to enjoy that. She doesn't really have much interaction with children besides when we go to PetSmart (which she LOVES!) and she is gentle with them. We've been discovering the parks in my neighborhood and we often visit my parents who have several acres of land for her to run around on. She is a good little frisbee catcher also. She is big fan of car rides, too!
