Arrival Story:
I was originally on the lookout for an American Eskimo. My mom showed me an advertisment in the Toronto Star for a Shih-tzu, black, white, brown and dark tips on ears and white tip tail. I agreed to visit. Then I saw him sitting in the middle of the living room of the home breeder's house and instantly fell in love with the little guy. He was the last of the litter (his four sisters were already taken). His mom and grandmother lay on the sofa. I think Gizmo's handsome looks must have come from Gizmo's father, 'Ro-Jacky's Rockin Robin' who was a show dog. I decided that evening that he would be mine. We picked him up the next morning and I promised the breeder I would take very good care of him. Not knowing how to handle my first puppy, I placed him into a cardboard box in the case he would pee. That didn't happen and he kept on poking his little head out of the box, so he ended up sleeping in my lap all the way home. I am so very glad to have met Gizmo and love him with all my heart. He is very well mannered and is a caring, calm, loving dog. His Chinese name "Yung-Tzu" was given to him by the breeder, Mrs. Young. We visited Mrs. Young last year, but unfortunately Gizmo's mom 'Kelly' had already passed on. It was really nice to visit the Young family again and see that they were in the company of two young vibrant Shih-tzu's. Friday Feb 6, 2009: My little sunshine's spirit has been released.
