Birthday: September 9th 1995 Likes: Eat & sleep & cuddle Pet-Peeves: White coats (vet visits) Favorite Toy: Fleece baby blanket Favorite Food: turkey & chicken & ham Favorite Walk: Walk, huh, I get carried! Best Tricks: Butterfly dances (Zoomies) Arrival Story: I first saw 4 month old Sadie in a petstore. I asked to hold her and in an instant my life changed. We brought her home on my birthday. We have been inseparable since. She is the bright light in our life and we treasure every day she is with us. Bio: Precious Sadie is small at only five pounds but very spunky. Sadie is special soul. She is friendly to all and a gentle blessing in our lives. She wiggled her way into our warm bed within days of joining us and has ruled our world from her princess pillow ever since. Not only has she taken over the house... she has stolen her Daddy's heart. He will do anything for her. Sadie is, easily, the most spoiled dog in the world. When she was younger she enjoyed playing tug a war and chase and just being close to us. We first became concerned with her health when she was diagnosed with heart murmur soon after her arrival. Her fragile life changed at the age of five when she started having epileptic seizures. (anesthetic complications!) She is blind in one eye from the seizures. Due to these health issues (and drugs) she is living a very sedate life as she ages gracefully. Tonka says he wishes she was more active and playful like she used to be but he loves her with all his heart anyway.
Update: Sadie's passed away August 25 2006 @ 5:45 am from chronic heart failure. She lived 11 wonderful years.
As I lay you down to sleep
Your eternal spirit shines
Our paths will cross again someday
Littlest angel of mine.

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can't be won.
You will be sad, I understand
Don't let the grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We've had so many happy years,
What is to come can hold no fears,
You'd not want me to suffer so;
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me where my needs they'll tend
And stay with me, if you can, to the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time, you will see,
It is a kindness you do for me.
Although my tail its last was waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.
Don't grieve that it should be you,
Who must decide this thing to do,
We've been so close, we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
My mommy and daddy took me on a holiday. I got to ride in the car ... I love riding in the car. I got to stay at a hotel... I love hotels! We went to Vancouver... that means no snow!
We went to the Woofies pet store in Grandville Island. Tonka got to pick out a new squeaky throw toy. I got to choose what I wanted so I jumped into a new pink carry bag. I looked so cute in it Mommy just had to buy it for me. You can see me sitting in it in the photo above. Don't I look like a princess. I know, I know, hot pink is MY color.
We went to the Kitsilano Beach and Park. I got to run on the grass and smell all the wonderful summer-time odors. Tonka got to run all over the beach looking for his stupid sticks. He was disappointed that he wasn't allowed to chase the sticks into the water because the ocean was so cold.
Since we got back from Vancouver it has been snowing and snowing and snowing. I hope it melts soon. I can hardly wait to smell the green grass again.
