Arrival Story:
I wanted a pet-quality companion for our other Yorkie, Eddie, and saw an ad in the paper for a $200 Yorkie. I called and discovered he was a rescue but was crushed when they had just given him away. I had another near miss with a Yorkie puppy after that and was feeling depressed. But the rescue people called back and said he was available again. We got him within the hour.

Bio:
Although the rescue people had him checked out by a vet and gave him a glowing bill of health, he has a problem with his back left leg and required surgery to repair his cranial cruciate ligament. I saw his initial vet report while researching it, and he arrived at animal control a sad little guy. Blood caked on his back and throat. He's had a tough life, but it's going to get better. As of 4/6/06, he is a new dog: He races up and down stairs, and I'm not sure his leg has ever been better. My vet is a genius. I'm so happy Jack got a second chance. Update: 2/11/09: Jack survived another miracle surgery in November of '08, an emergency surgery to repair a perineal hernia. He recovered in 2 days and was out romping in the snow in three. Sadly, he had a sudden and expected attack on 2/8/09 and died. Vet suspects an aneurism because he appeared to lose brain functions before he passed. He was the most loving dog I've ever met, and I'll miss him for eternity.
