Arrival Story:
We were looking for a playmate for Fozzy so kept going to the local pound trying to find a smaller dog. We had been looking for months but every dog was way too big. One day I went while my husband was at work and saw Tweety. She was a stray that they just picked up and she was a mess. I really didn't think we'd take her home but I picked her up and the minute I held her and looked into those eyes I knew she was the one for us. She was so sick and her hair was all matted and she had been so abused she was in really bad shape. I had to hand feed her nutri-cal for 2 weeks before she'd eat on her own and the first couple of days she was literally joined at my hip. She was only about 5 lbs when we got her and she was just skin and bones. She was so afraid of my husband that she would pee sometimes when he'd walk in the room and would bark and growl at him. (It's obvious she had been abused by a man.) Her tail has been chopped off farther than most tails so she's got this little nub and that's it. It's taken her a long time to warm up to my husband and trust him. But Fozzy loves her and the two of them play together wonderful and now she weighs a healthy 9 lbs and is active, happy and full of life. She is still very skittish around strangers and doesn't like being away from me at all but we are very happy that I went to the pound that day and decided to take her home.
