Arrival Story:
Oscar is our new foster puppy and he has been living with us since January 7th. Oscar and his four sisters were part of seizure, where 40 dogs were rescued and put in a shelter. And that's where he lived since he was 8 weeks old. After a couple of weeks of just living with his foster family, he is now ready to be adopted.

Bio:
Update as of 3/30/06: Guess what? Oscar is going to be adopted on Friday!!! Yeahh!! He will be living in San Bruno and will have a Minipin as a friend and 2 cats!!! Cross your fingers that everything goes well!! Oscar was extremely shy when he came to us, because he didn't have a lot of human interaction. He is particularely afraid of men and needs some time to get to know them until he trusts them. He was also afraid of cars and wouldn't even want to go for walks because of these nasty cars. But he has come a long way: he walks nicely on leash, sleeps in his crate, is housetrained, loves playing with other dogs and likes cuddling with his foster mom. The only thing he still needs to work on is meeting new people. But he'll ge there :-) Oscar should go to a home with previous dog experience due to his fear issues. Even better would be a home where already a dog lives; he instantly lightens up aroud other dogs and is much less afrait if he has canine company. He has not yet met any small children or cats, but we assume that he would have not problems there because his is extremely friendly. If you are interested in adopting Oscar, please visit www.bcrescuenc.org and fill out an application; Oscar is also on that webpage under "available dogs". Yes, that's right: someone is going to adopt me on Friday! I met Joe last Monday and I kinda liked him. I even took food from his hand and let him pet me, a little.
And I'm gonna live with another dog and 2 cats! And the neighbors have dogs too!!

Soo cool. Hope it'll be allright. Might take me a few days to settle into my new place, but I can handle it.

My First Agility Trial!!

Haa..! got ya! I wasn't really running, but I was allowed to come along with my foster sister Jersey to watch Sheila run in Santa Rosa.

...Well...actually, I didn't really watch her...because I was too scared to leave my crate most of the day. Mom and dad had to pull me out of it a few times to go potty. But as soon as I was out of the agility arena (it was kinda indoors in a big arena where they ususally show cattle), I was much happier and wanted to explore everything. Towards to afternoon, I was even allowed to run around in this huge field with Sheila & Jersey and chase balls. Well, I chased them and they chased the ball, that's how it works.

And then later that evening, we went to my dad's family to a B-Day party and me and my sisters were allowed to play in their backyard a little. That was fun! And Frisco, their own dog, was nice to me. But Jersey got jealous and always went between us when Frisco tried to say hi to me. And then she snapped at Frisco when he tried to hump her. Well, your bad luck, Frisco, shoudn't mess with Jersey! No no! Don't ever get in her face!

And then we finally got home at around 8:30 pm. (we had to get up at 4 am!!!). And I wasn't tired, because I was hanging out in my crate almost all day. But everyone else was tired and they made me go to bed.

And because I wasn't really tired, I wanted to get up again at 4:30 this morning, and mom and dad and Sheila & Jersey were getting really annoyed about my whining in the crate until they finally let me out. But I didn't just wanna pee, no no, I wanted to play. ...But they wouldn't let me and daddy yelled at me to finally be quiet. And I was. Until 5:30, which is when mom got up and took us for a walk.

*Sigh*...what a busy life I live!

Until a week ago, I didn't wanna go for walks. Because there are those nasty big cars and they really frightened me. But mommy kept on taking me along and sometimes even had to pull me....until I realized that those nasty cars wouldn't eat me :-) Now, I am actually looking forward to go for walks every morning with my sisters Sheila & Jersey!
