The rescue group that I came from, STARS of North Texas, made up the plaque that you see above for their trailer.

It says:

In memory of Gracie Hughes...

Let us not mourn the passing of Gracie Jane, but let us celebrate the time we were privileged to have her with us before she passed and all the wonderful memories she has given to us.

To Sharon and Bill Hughes who gave Gracie the best years of her life.

Mom's crying now, so she'll finish this later.........but what a wonderful tribute and gift from such a wonderful group.

Tails from Rainbow’s Bridge by Gracie Jane

This is Mrs. Gracie Jane Gribbon writing all the way from Rainbow’s Bridge. (It's a miracle! Yes, we can type here!)

All I can say is what the heck!!!!?????? I wanted to be a bridesmaid at my brother Angel Tucker and Angel Clover’s upcoming wedding, but HEY, I really did not want to be in “personal attendance” nor get a one way ticket to the Rainbow’s Bridge! Helllllooooooooooo!

I just had my senior wellness exam in the Fall and I passed with flying colors. My heart was poifect, my lungs were poifect and all of the rest of my major organs and levels were poifect. I was as fit as a girl ½ my age! Well, one bad body part can ruin your whole day people! Go figure that my trachea would suddenly collapse in such a way that surgery was not an option. Ugh! It’s always something isn’t it?

Admittedly, being with Tucker, Clover, Cherokee, Pebbies, Winnifred Wigglepants and Griffy and all of our Bridge friends again is the best by far and the Rainbow’s Bridge All You Can Eat Buffet is all that Tucker said it would be. All animals are here. It’s amazing! So many goldfish! Tucker says they come from flushed toilets, but I’m not sure if he’s kidding or not.

Here’s what I miss already:

Mommy, Daddy, Meemo, cat chasing, my wonderful Doggie McDreamy husband Gibby and his sister Mia, (Oh, did I tell you Gibby, that you can never remarry? I will haunt you if you do! BOL!!! Just kidding, but at least wait a respectable amount of time if you do remarry. Our puppies need a good Mom. God knows I could never keep track of them.) I miss Tinker, Sassy, Muffin, Jezzie, Rusty, Georgie U, Georgie and Jackson, Daisy Mae, Gilby, Gunner, Jay-Jay, The Roo Crew, Charlie, Morgan, Nugget, Daisy Mae, Piper and Duke, The Fab Conway Sisters, The Tator Tots, Jeannie, Kitai, Murphy, River, Shiloh, Rudy, Maddison and all of my friends in my groups & the forums.

I miss my fabulous wardrobe too and Federal Express will not deliver my clothes to Rainbow’s Bridge! That’s the last time they’ll ever see my business! Yeeshola!

Now, not only am I running for Rainbow Bridge Mayor, but I’m opening the Rainbow Bridge Boutique for the sophisticated pet…..goldfish too! (I will have designer fish bowls for them! BOL!) Turtles can have their shells manicured too!

I am running for Mayor against the original Lassie and Seabiscuit. I probably don't have a chance, but what the heck right?

Wowee Zowee! All of the pictures of me and for me and the strolls, memorials, candles, p-mails, rosettes and special gifts are overwhelming! To say that I love you all would be a terrible understatement. There are no words to reflect my feelings for all of you at this time. I do thank you all so much for all you’ve done and all you’re trying to do to help Mommy and Daddy feel better. Helllooooooo, Poo-Head Meemo, a little sorrow for me here! You took over my side of the bed a little too fast bubby! At least act like you’re looking for me. A peek here and there wouldn’t kill ya!

Okay, well I have to go to orientation now and pick up my free passes to come to the After Hours Club parties and stuff. Momma says she loves you all and it goes without saying that I do too! Momma unfortunately has to get back to studying for her second week of school…I want a smart Mommy you know, but she says that when she feels better she wants to thank you all individually for all you’ve done. I'm Dog of the Day Today! Wowee!

I was so excited to wake up to find that Dogster chose me to be "Dog of the Day" today! I'm doing my special happy dance right now!!

I knew something was up when I saw all my brand new and beautiful rosettes from well wishers. Not to mention all the wonderful PPR's!! That's the best part, all the new friends I get to meet!!

I'm going to go read my rosettes now and thank every single doggie for being so sweet to me today. It makes me feel real special. : )
