A shiba called Nuki aka handsome

4 years old now

Wow, time flies, my last entry was almost 2 years ago.

He is still picky with food, usually his meal is steam meat (chicken, pork, beef or mutton) sometimes gave him gizzard, occasionally baked the meat chix wings or mini-thigh to give him some variety. Usually he likes some vege with it esp cabbage, chye sim or any leafy vege. If I am busy, the only can food he eat is Cesar.
He only eat kibbles when he is hungry/snack from the rolling ball where one can fill up with treats, usually I add some dried liver treat in it to entice him.

He like to snuggle up with me and sleep on the same bed and steals my blanket in the middle of the nite. Very easy to care of basically,he like to sleep a lot so that helps :) The only thing he doenst like is rainy days and especially thunder, he will whine and paw my head ( if I am asleep) or wanna jump on my lap or I have to hold him tight and he will be shivering. I dont remember him being so paranoid when he was young. He picked this bad habit after I put him at a pet hotel once when I went travelling. Sometimes he pee when there is a thunderstorm and when I am not at home. Now he is getting better coz when I had to travel, I get a friend to house sit him....paying of course!!! Singapore rain so much and thunderstorm every now and then so often......sigh

Back to cooked!

Guess what, Nuki pooed in the car. He had some raw pork, had a tummy upset as he was whining and sitting up and down, pacing restlessly in the backseat. Knew he need to poo but made a mistake, thought he could hold out till we get to the park, as he never pee/poo in the car or house before. Alas, a big envelope of the most smelly poo filled the car, urghhhhhh !
Now back to cooked food.

I want it raw!

Lately, Nuki only picked out the meat and left the kibbles untouched. So only gave him cooked meat only without the kibbles even then he only sniffed at the food and ate a few mouthful. He has always been a picky eater but could he be ill?
So these few days gave him some raw pork and wow his appetite is all back and gobbled up his food in double quick time. So I think going to start him on BARF from now on. But for the moment no chicken, coz of the bird flu thingy, just to be on the safe side.
But he is very happy with the raw meat, I just wonder it will make him wilder, you know......all the blood and all.
