Thunderstorms, fireworks, crackling fireplace sounds, walking over metal grates, getting humped by my duck
Favorite Toy:
He only plays with Greenies or chews my fingers. He has never shown any interest in toys.
Favorite Food:
Shredded carrots, veggie burgers, mushroom soup, Wellness yogurt and apple treats, Greenies. He just had to switch to Hills Prescription Diet food because of his kidney stone problem (surgeries in 2001 and 3/2004) and he's learning to love that.
Favorite Walk:
Through my building's lobby, where all the doormen keep treats stashed for him. He's happy almost anywhere and is always eager to come along with me, even though he can be a bit of a slowpoke at times!
Best Tricks:
He's not a trick-doer. He just looks cute, and he's very good at that!
Arrival Story:
He belonged to my parents. When they died, I inherited him.
Bio:
Alfie's getting up there in years, so he's a bit deaf and blind. Luckily, he's small and portable so I can just carry him when he's having a bad day! He doesn't let his problems slow him down, and he is an inspiration to the neighborhood dogs. Keep on keeping on!

Alfie is truly a miracle dog! He went into kidney failure Labor Day weekend, and after four harrowing days in the hospital, he decided to stay with me a while longer. He's home, eating well and getting subcutaneous hydration every morning. I guess 18 years isn't enough for him!
