I drove 2 hours down to Sikeston, Mo to pick this boy up. When I got there they said I couldn't adopt him then because they had over 40 applications for him, one even from New York. I was so sad I filled out an application and went out to my car where I saw two of the humane society workers walking him. I went over to pet him and he just took to me so well. .I talked with the guys for a long time then they went and put in a good word for me with the director of the shelter. They came back out and they said he was mine! I hugged the shelter workers and Sluggo and I went home a happy pair. I can't thank the staff of the Sikeston humane society enough for my new found friend.
