Likes: Edgar loves getting "any and all" the attention and affection you can dish out, especially from our unsuspecting house guests
Pet-Peeves: Edgar absolutely will not tolerate any ducks, squirrels, great blue herons, or cats in his yard or his back deck.
Favorite Toy: His orange stuffed pumpkin-man toy.
Favorite Food: He loves popcorn and Snasages treats best, but to look at him you know he likes all foods!
Favorite Walk: He loves walking along the water front of Aransas Bay in Rockport, Texas.
Best Tricks: He is best at hiding his toys from his older sister, Kelsey, usually in our closet.
Arrival Story: In 2000, we responded to an ad in the local paper for a 2-1/2 year old male scottie. We were wanting another scottie to keep our 8 year old female scottie, Kelsey, company. It was love at first sight! Not only when we met him, but also when Kelsey was first introduced to him. We weren't sure how she would react, because she had always been around much larger dogs. Edgar lived in a small trailer park in San Antonio and was owned by a scottish terrior breeder, but now she was ready to sell him. The evening we went to meet him, he had been playing in a small swimming pool and was covered with mud. That did not stop us from getting muddy too and deciding right then that he had to be part of our family. He was so lovable. Please know that the original owner took very good care of him and he was a happy dog. However, we did change his name from Hedge Hog to Edgar. I think that made him happy! He is so much a part of our lives and we are so thankful to have him. He enjoys a good life, both in San Antonio and a coastal community life on the weekends. He loves riding in the boat, kayak and jet skiing (slow) too!
Bio: Edgar is a brindle-colored scotty with lot's of grey to his coat's color. He is plump but very active and loves to give kisses.
Hello to all my Pals! I've got exciting news. I'm livin mostly at the Beach now! Mom and Dad had planned on movin down sometime next year, but things are workin out so we can be there sooner. Between you and me, I love the coastal life much better than city live. Mostly, I enjoy patrolling my back deck from passing boats, jet skiers, kayakers, all birds and even a stray cat or two....basically anythin that moves is a fair target. There's always lots of action and I have to be involved in all of it....as you other Terriers know!! Older sister, Kelsey doesn't like the heat, but she gets her barks in when she's up to it.
It's party time in ole San Antonio! It's Fiesta Time!! Fiesta includes lots of parties, parades and celebrating. Mom is going to NIOSA (Night in Ole San Antonio) tonight, but I can't go because there will be tons of people there for opening night. We watched the River Parade on TV last night...that was fun. I got to see all the floats and kiddos enjoying themselves. Nothing that I like better than having a good time...well maybe a nap!!!
Boy did I have a scare over the last few days! My mommy found a little lump on my tummy about the size of a small lime. It sure did worry her. But, great news from my buddy, Dr. Ray! It's just a fatty cyst that some of us pups get from time to time.
For now, he said we should just keep an eye on it to see if it gets any bigger. If it does, then he'll remove it. Fortunately, it does not hurt me. If it did, I would have let mommy know during her constant monitoring of it over the weekend. It hasn't slowed me down one bit either! I feel great and enjoyed another great weekend on the Coast.
I just thought some of my pup buddies out there should know about these cysts and to make sure their parents get 'em checked out.
That's all for now. It's time for a walk and pup treat...several I hope!
