Arrival Story:
I went to the Humane Society, and saw a box of puppies behind a gated area where the public could not go. One looked like a shepherd, which was what I wanted. I asked at the desk if the puppies were available. "Puppies??? What puppies??? We don't have any puppies!!! But if we DID have puppies, they MIGHT be ready to go tomorrow. Make sure you're here at 11am!" So I was, and half the puppies had been taken to a morning news show- but not the shepherd. On the way home from the pound, she pooped a big puppy poo in my car. Her first outing was that day, when I snuck her into her new Daddy's football game inside my coat! Over 14 years later, she's still going strong, and I only love her more and more.

Bio:
Update: Lady was found to have a hip tumor and chest metastasis on August 27, 2004. Even as her illness progressed and different symptoms came and went, judging by her behavior she never knew she was sick. We spent 9 more months together, which was truly a miracle and a gift to both of us. Lady spent her last day being loved more than any dog had ever been loved, and she passed away in my arms on May 27, 2005. I made many promises to her, all of which I will keep. I will love and miss her forever. My heart is broken, but I will always be grateful for the 14 and 1/2 years I had the honor of being her best friend.
