Arrival Story:
Pookie came into our lives when we saw an ad in the paper for a yorkie and Gran had been wanting one, so we went and got him, but ended up keeping him we loved him so much.

Pookie was truly the light in our eyes. He was Dad's best friend and Dad was his best friend. They spent almost every single moment together. Pookie was so quiet and gentle, not a normal yorkie quality. He loved to get foot-luvin' and he was a little model. We constantly found him sitting in front of the screen door admiring himself. He also loved having his picture taken and absolutely hated it when we cut his long hair a little short for summer. It was the first time he ran away from the camera. I have more pictures of Pookie than of anything else. Two years ago, Pookie began acting odd, not his normal cheerful self. He had developed liver disease. It got so bad that he was taking two different medications twice a day. We lost him to an accident in the house about a year and a half ago. It's amazing how much a dog's life can touch you and how much you miss them. We loved him so much, we jumped at the chance to get another yorkie from his line - Tigger.

One of the things I remember about Pookie is that he was polite. For my senior pictures, I decided I wanted Pookie in some of them. Well, we were probably at the place for about three hours waiting to have pictures taken and having them taken and all this, so Pookie was always being held. Well, as you can probably imagine, after three hours of being held, he had to use the bathroom. We put him in the car and layed down a newspaper - then and only then did he use the bathroom. But the entire time we were having pictures taken, he didn't pee on anyone! I personally find that amazing considering the dog only weighed about 5 pounds at the time and we also made him wear a bow in his hair!
