Well, the other day, my mom and dad came home smelling like dogs. I was so suspicious, and not at all pleased. I sniffed and I sniffed just to make sure I was smelling everything right, and I sure was. Dog. I had no idea why they smelled this way. Were they leaving me home to play with other dogs? It couldn't be. But the next day, Mom and Dad loaded me up in the car, one of my all-time top ten things to do, and drove out to Columbia Maryland for something called Lab Rescue Adoption Event. I didn't know that there were other labs out there who needed to be rescued. But we showed up at Petsmart, and there were SO MANY LABS!!!
We were interviewed by this lady--I am not sure why. But I had my new pink leash and my pink collar that Mom picked out and Daddy complained about, so I sat as pretty as I could the entire time. Everyone was amazed and kept complimenting me, so that made me behave even better. Several people asked if they could adopt me, but NooooWay, I am happy at home. Then came the fun part.
I call it Meet and Greet. We got to go around and meet all of the other doggies. I thought it was just a play date, but it turns out it was more! First we met some chocolate labs. One of them was a lazy-butt and didn't even look at me, and the other growled. Yikes! Don't bring him home! We met a blonde lab who looked a lot like me. She seemed cool, but who needs another blonde girl running around here?
Then we met the boys. Now we're talking. We met a black male named Cooper, and I totally dug him. We played a lot, but then Mom said something about finding a dog to be a brother and not a boyfriend, and we kept looking. Then we met a black lab named Bear. He totally rocked and Mom fell in love with him right away. We played and pranced around the parking lot, and before you know it, Bear was in the car on the way home with me.
For some reason, they no longer call him Bear--they call him Linus now. But I like the sound of LINUS!LUCY! coming from my mom and dad. They were worried I wouldn't like having a new friend at home, but I am soooo happy. We play all day, and then we sleep together. We eat together and run together, and sometimes we tussle. That's when Mom steps in and puts us outside. Anyway, I am totally thrilled with my new brother Linus.
I wonder when we'll get a third? :)

Today is my second day on Dogster, and already I have made some great new doggy pals. I have pals from all over the country, including several who live right near me. I can't wait to meet them at the doggy parks when the weather warms up a bit. So far, I am having a great day. I climbed up on the bed at about 3am last night and was allowed to stay! I got to sleep until morning on the best spot in the house! Then I got to play frisbee for twenty minutes before Mom left for work--I was really good and didn't get any mud on her suit even though I was a mess!! I think that is why she let me play for so long. Then, for being soooo good, I got to celebrate with my Kong. Mmm... peanut butter. After I finished my Kong, I scoured the kitchen counters just to make sure nothing was accidentally left out for me to devour/chew/destroy. Now I think I am going to head back to my crate because I'm pretty sleepy. It's time to curl up on my blanket and snooze until my mom and dad get back home from work to play with me. I wonder if they're as excited to play frisbee again as I am?

Today is Lucy's first day on Dogster, and she is very excited to meet a network of doggies just like her. She joined the Maryland Dog Owners group, and she also formed her own group--the Quiet Waters Dog Group!! She would love to make new friends for the upcoming spring at Quiet Waters. If you swim, run, and play at Quiet Waters, join the group with Lucy. She would love to set up playdates!!
