Arrival Story:
I read about him in the paper and auctually he was the dog the breeder wanted to keep out of the litter. She told me that he was the one who followed her everywhere. If she was working on the computer, he was there sleeping on her lap. If she was playing with the other pups in the yard, he was playful. So we drove the three hours which was supposed to be halfway between me and her, but it turned out they hit a deer on the way and we never met her. So, the next day I was awefully upset and I went to work thinking I would have to wait for the weekend to meet him (it was a Monday). To my suprise, my boyfriend (fiance now) showed up at the end of my shift with him in the car. He took off work and drove four hours (8 round trip) to pick him up without me knowing.

Dexter is really the best dog I have ever known. There is nothing that I could ask of him to be a better dog. We never had to work with him on heel or come, it just came naturally to him. In my family, dogs are generally second to children etc. They usually are not invited to get togethers and if they are, they have to stay outside. Dexter is the exception to the rule. If I show up without him my friends and family always ask where he is and tell me that I should have brought him.
