Arrival Story:
Brutus really adopted us. We were sitting in the living room one night when we saw a big yellow dog sitting at the screen door, so we opened the door and let him in. He came around from time to time after that, but soon, he decided he liked living with us and decided to stay.

Brutus is definitely the Gentle Giant. He is the sweetest, smartest dog we have ever seen. We can literally say to him, "Brutus, go lay in front of the fireplace" and that is where he goes. He can also bark, "Bru-Bru!" He especially does it to charm the ladies that come to visit at the house. Everyone that comes and visits wants to take him home. At his core though, Brutus is a wanderer. He loves to take walks and always tries to find something to chase, whether it be a rabbit, a squirrel, or even a deer. He also takes walk up and down the road visiting people. He was a community dog until he decided to stay with us.

Boy, have things been changing around here! And I thought I had the hole-digging thing down...well, no sir! Poppy hauled in all these machines and they dug this big hole! I was impressed! I don't got nothin' on these things! Moonshine and I really have to watch it walking around the yard now! Speaking of walks, Poppy is still taking us on walks, which I love. Tigger is always around me, trying to figure out what I'm doing so he can copy me. But like I said before, I guess the little guy needs a role model. If I left it up to Zoey, she would teach him nothing but stuff that would get him in trouble. I think it's her evil plan to be the baby of the familiy again. She sure knows how to bark out the orders. I just try to stay out of her way. When Daddy or someone comes over to pet me, I'm not going to run away though. I love getting attention just as much as she does! But anyway, I just wanted to tell you all about the big holes in our yard! It wasn't my fault!!!

Digging Holes for Moles

Has everyone seen my new picture? There I am with the hole I was digging at the time, right where Poppy's garden used to be. I'm sure he won't mind. I thought I heard a mole...but then I got carried away and just had fun digging the hole. Poppy should be thankful that I'm working hard to get all the moles out. It's all in a day's work, I'm telling you. Those moles are sneaky. Sissy thought my digging was funny, that's why she took pictures. Happy Mole Hunting!

All in a Day's Work

If the little dogs are going to have diaries, I want one too! My life is pretty exciting compared to being inside all day. My day starts very early when Moonshine and I check out the property to make sure no intruders are around. The worst are those dang moles. Moonshine and I always get them cornered and run them out of their little holes. They tear Poppy's yard to pieces if we don't take care of them. Moonshine and I hang around Poppy a lot. He is a cool guy. He works really hard and lets us in his house...I may be an outside dog, but I can appreciate some good air conditioning any day. Poppy also goes on walks with us and feeds us every day on time, and when he forgets, I just let him know and he gets to it. Moonshine came with Poppy when they moved in. I was really glad when they came because I was an only dog at the time. They also brought Zoey, but I forgive them for that. She likes to think she's in charge, and tries to get me to do stuff, but I'm not scared of the little half-pint. Then there's Tigger or as Poppy calls him, Squirt...I don't know quite what to think of the little man. He kind of reminds me of a dog we used to have around, Pookie. I don't really know what happened to him, but I remember when he went away, everyone was sad for a long time. Tigger looks like him, but that's where the similarities end. I don't mean to brag, but Tigger kind of looks up to me. I can understand why though, the little tyke needs a role model. Who else is he going to look up to? Zoey? It's bad enough that Zoey taught him to lift up his leg to use the bathroom. I know, I know, girls don't do that, but she does. And the two of them always have to mark the same spots. They get into a competition! I say, do your business and move on. Well, I think that's enough for now, got to go for my evening job, night security.
