Arrival Story:
After we adopted Lucas we decided that he needed a companion of his own kind. We had heard of Lacey and went to see her at a foster home. She was very shy and reserved but, she touched our hearts and we took her home that very day. It has taken her so very long to trust me....she seemed to trust my husband immediately. However, last October she broke her back right foot and I was the one that walked her and learned to clean and wrap her abrasions after the cast was removed. Since then, Lacey has opened up and we have a very close and loving relationship. She and Lucas are great buddies and we wouldn't know how to act without her.

Bio:
She resides in Illinois with her other two greyt friends...Lucas and Petunia. She also has 6 cats that are her friends. Her racing name was "Al E Slim Fit". Yesterday (October 12, 2008) Lacey was diagnosed with bone cancer in her front left leg. She could not stand on it any longer and she was in so much pain. Not for ourselves, but for her...we sent her to the Rainbow Bridge. She was loved, a kind and gentle soul. We will miss her greatly and there will always be a hole in our hearts. We love and miss you Lacey....
