Arrival Story:
He ended up at our local shelter in a cage in the back of a pickup truck covered in his own poop with his brother. They dumped him off and told the people at the shelter he hates dogs, he hates men, hates people in uniform, hates kids etc. They were like "what are we going to do with him?" he stunk so badly that they had to bathe him right away. He was very grateful. His brother cried during his bath. Turns out his brother had severe hip dysplasia and had to be put down. Jimmy languished in his cage at the shelter becoming more despondent daily that no one wanted him. Finally, his six months were up and he was up for euthanization. The angel at the shelter loved Jimmy and he was too special to be put down she felt. So she contacted a GSD rescue. Turns out the husband of the lady who ran the shelter LOVES Jimmy Buffett so this local shelter drove Jimmy about 2 hours south to the rescue. He stayed there for maybe a year in foster care. He got basic obedience training there. Then, our dog King passed on. We looked at all the websites and Jimmy resembled our beloved dog. We picked him up the very next week. We drove him back up north where he came from and he has been our beloved Jimmy Buffett since. He is a character! He has been beyond spoiled since he was saved. I will always credit Ruby at Paws in Tinley Park for saving his life and GSD Rescue in Urbana for allowing Jimmy to wait until he found us, for feeding him, for giving him medical care, and teaching him his commands. They are all angels!

I think I babbled on too long above!
