Arrival Story:
I took guardianship of Goldie with 4 other dogs, her brother, her 2 sisters and her momma dog in 1999.

Bio:
Goldie's always had a problem with her eyes. I had 2 entropian surgeries for my super wrinkly baby's eyes but then a few months later she developed 2 abcessed teeth & the infection spread rapidly to her eyes which caused her to develop Glaucoma. I took her to a Specialist to have surgery to correct the problem. Since she was older at 10, I had her prescreened to make sure she would survive the anesthesia. It turned out she was at the beginning of kidney disease. I had to make a decision. Risk her life to save her sight or let her live & go blind. She's blind now. They're really wasn't a choice. My Boo has the most amazing attitude. She's been completely blind since the Spring of 2005. She gets around just fine. True to Shar Pei form if I try to help guide her she gets stubborn & wants to go her own way. I had to get use to her bumping into things. It's hard watching her bump into things but she's still one of the happiest dogs ever. She still plays tumble with me. .................................. May 2006 - Goldie passed away peacefully at home with her human family around her while the shot was administered. She will be dearly missed.
