Lazy Day at Home

Sahara has recently been diagnosed with Canine Soft-Tissue Sarcoma. The vet is pretty sure he removed all of the tumor (he couldn't do any more cutting without going into her muscle and damaging nerves). Has anyone ever heard of this, and what would the long term prognosis be? She's only 6...and she has hip dysplasia and now cancer. Such a sad day when we found out. :(

Vet Appointment

We took Sahara to the vet a couple of months ago because she was limping and sometimes she wouldn't put any weight on her hind leg. The vet did his examination and he said that she had hip dysplasia, but of course he couldn't say it was for sure because he wanted to do X-Rays to make sure 100% it was it. So he put her on Duramaxx and sent her home and then in a couple of weeks later, we went back to the vet and had her picture taken and sure enough, our 3 year old lab has hip dysplasia and severe arthritis. We are going to try managing her pain with the medications first before we opt for the hip replacement surgery at Ohio State. As of right now, she is doing a lot better with the medication. She is on low dose and we also started her on glucosamine with chondroitin and msm. But as of right now, we don't see the surgery happening anytime soon.
