Fetch! She will fetch just about anything, and she can go for hours.

Her Halti and Gentle Leader, when Mama and Paw Paw don't take her to the park first thing Saturday Morning!

Favorite Toy:
Chuck it stick (ball launcher), tire biter frisbee, cat in the hat stuffed squeaker toy, upside down bowl in her pool, soccer ball with a rope, and of course mama's shoes!

Favorite Food:
Peanut butter, pig ears, she longs for chocolate but of course doesn't get it.

Favorite Walk:
To the park to play with the Chuck it, if she ever gets lost that will be the first place we'll look for her.

Best Tricks:
Maggie is a superstar frisbee catcher! She loves her tire-biter frisbee and does fantastical tricks with it. She will leap into the air contorting her body in any shape and direction to catch that thing!

Arrival Story:
We went to the San Martin Animal shelter to check out dogs. There was a Great Dane/Lab mix in the kennel with Maggie. He was beautiful! We were taking him to the play yard and she wanted out too, the person helping us invited us to take both out and we did. He was pretty crazy and she was focused, she would actually go to the water bucket and clean the fetch toys when they got dirty. She won our hearts and we couldn't imagine our life withour her.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yes, it's been almost 2 years since my last diary entry. Poor me, I've been so neglected now that mama and pawpaw are raising baby humans. I don't feel too bad though since it's nearly been one year since the kids' website was updated (and I'm getting updated first!!!).

Anyhow, mama got a big dose of guilt when she checked her email and saw it was my birthday today. She had forgotten, not even on the radar. My first birthday was celebrated with pie and photos, it was a grand celebration. This year I was lucky to get my regular helping of dog food.

I'm now a prisoner of the back yard. I used to sleep in mama and Pawpaw's bed and now I can't step foot in the house. I do behave much better now that I'm an outside dog, I rarely jump the 6' fence anymore to wait for people on the front porch. We have another ankle biter around, he's too little to get to me yet but one of these days I'll have my work cut out for me. My first boy is a lot of fun. He and Pawpaw take me to the park. He thinks he's a pug named Popeye, mama and pawpaw keep saying something about his healthy imagination. I think I may have went through a similar stage where I thought I was a human, my conclusion is that being a human is way over-rated ;)

Who knows when I'll be back? So long for now!

A Prisoner In My Own Home

The title says it all, I'm a prisoner in my own home :( Once upon a time I was able to go sans less in the front yard. Out to the mailbox, to catch a frisbee or ball, hang out while Pawpaw or Mama do yardwork or talked to the neighbors. As of today I'm no longer free. Pawpaw made a complaint with animal control about the neighbors dog being in our yard 3 times and they are fighting back with made up accusations :(

Mama says it's safer for me anyhow, even though it's not a choice. The animal control lady had a talk with Mama and told her all the rules and how we'll get in trouble if the neighbors complain more. Pawpaw says they are drug addicts and dealers and no good. In fact rumor has it that the reason I live with them is because the low lifes next door broke into Mama and Pawpaw house and took stuff.

The good news is the neighbor dog can't be out without a leash either. Mama and Pawpaw had no idea dogs couldn't be in their front yard without a leash, we just knew dogs shouldn't be in other people's yards (with or without a leash). Who knew?

Off to fetch some frisbee!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is the day we recognize my birth, the day to count all of the years of me. We're not sure what the actual day was since Mama and Pawpaw weren't with me then, but our best guess is sometime in March.

Oh the excitement! Ok, so not really. My first birthday I had a special dessert, today I had to settle with chicken jerky. But I got to help Pawpaw mow the lawn. As we were finishing up the nice neighbor lady asked if they could bring me to the dog park with their dog and kids. Pawpaw said sure and hurried me along before Mama could object (she worries way way too much). I had a great time, Pawpaw said they were a little concerned since we were gone so long. Maybe Mama will blow some bubbles just for me in recognition of my 3rd birthday? And if you want to know about dog years just ask Pawpaw - he takes them rather seriously (Mama made me write that, something about an inside joke...Pawpaw is in the background saying he can't believe she'd take shots at him like that. Crazy humans)!

Paws to all from the birthday girl :)
