Likes:
riding in the car and getting hair all in the fabric seats.
Pet-Peeves:
sneeky strangers that smell of illegal drugs. Does not warm up to them.
Favorite Toy:
any dog toy, the more stuffing, the more to take out.
Favorite Food:
Solid Gold Hund-e-Flocken, occasional peanut butter snack, cheese
Favorite Walk:
Off leash on a logging rd. in Union, Wa. There is a great beaver pond where I swim all year round. I love to stir up quail . I smell deer and coyotes, but have not and hope not to meet up with one. Of course, I could woop a coyotes _ss. good on nose.
Best Tricks:
Sitting in front of my owner and tilting my head back for a treat, or loving.
Arrival Story:
Hoss was the result of an accidental breeding when his mom was promised to an akita stud with all the bells and whistles of good temperament, show ability , and nobleness. Knowing the way akitas could be (domineering personality and stubborn) , I was leary of the breed. Hoss' mom has a great temperament and is a therapy dog, his dad (GR) is also a therapy dog . A co-worker owned both of the dogs and chose Hoss for me to fit my personality.
Bio:
Fortunately, I got the best of both worlds of the akita/golden retriever. He stays by my side constantly. He can be stubborn...like me, and is a very fast learner , with a great memory . He is just plain special. I keep reminding myself he has akita blood and has gotten dog aggressive no matter how much socialization he had in the past. I insist on proper introduction (smelling butts) and no rough housing starting out. The toy breeds are okay with him. Less intimidating. Of course, I do not want him to ever meet a jack russel terrier or mature unaltered pitt bull.

I have been told that I am getting a new sister the 1st week of Feb. She is a purebred golden retriever whom is going to grow up to be red in color. So red , that her name is going to be "Reba" after Reba McIntyre. I am not much into country music but she does have a good personality and red hair like my sis.

A friend of my mom's is giving her a golden retriever puppy. She was born on December 20. Get ready for kaos in the household. Diva the cat is more excited than I am cuz I am too rough for her.

My grandad(Andy) made nat'l news 2weeks ago. Someone stole the van with Andy and 4 other goldens in it. Thank goodness , the one who stole the van dropped the dogs off somewhere. The owner/breeder is estactic on getting his dogs back, forget the van. The dogs were worth more than gold!
