Life at the Rainbow Bridge

From Oreo's Earth mommy

I can't believe it's been two months today since I helped my little Or-b-bo cross over the Bridge. I never realized how big a part this little boy played in my life. It seems like just yesterday we moved into our own house without the fenced backyard - for two weeks I took him out on a leash in the backyard. Then came that bright sunny day when the fence was put in and little Oreo could be out as much as he wanted. After the fence was put in and I turned him out there the first time - he didn't know what to do. At first he didn't understand he could run anywhere he wanted in that yard - stay out as long as he wanted. He'd take care of business then want back in. It did not take long tho before Oreo did figure it out. He loved laying outside in the warm sun.

I wish my mommy wasn't sadder. Sumtimes she duz ok an'sumtimes not. She wuz out in the bakyard with my brother Shiloh an'my baby sister Shasta. She wuz thinking 'bout when we first moved in a few years ago an'the yard wuzn't fenced - at that time it wuz just me & mommy. She thinks that she wuz gonna hafta fence it in just fer me - I wish I could tell her that it wuzn't really just fer me; I wuz the little doggy who wuz lucky enuf tu b wuth mommy at that time. My mommy wood've dun that fer ANY little doggy she had - she is one of the best darn doggy mommies on earth. And now it is Shiloh's an'Shasta's turn to play in the yard. She is thinking about having a spechial plac made that says "This bakyard is in memory of Oreo" or sumthin like that. That mite b a nice thing tu have.

"I gotta tell ya - life here at the Rainbow Bridge is GRAND!!!! I haven't felt this great in a looong time. I have been just so terribly bizy since I got here. I was first greeted by Duncan (IN LOVING MEMORY) who iza a real sweet doggy. We swapped life stories a bit then he told me a bit about this place. There is all kinds of stuff to eat and you can eat all you want and not gain an ounce - I found me sum nice fluffy scrambled eggs to chow down on followed by a side of p-nut butter with doggy biscuits. And you're not stuck with the same old dry kibble day in and day out. Then I found sum toys that were really fun to pllay with and a bigger doggy played tug-o-war with me but this made me a little sad - I thought about Shiloh, my younger big brother and how we used to do that. But then I just ran off and found me sum turkeyloaf to eat with sum doggy crackers washed down with a big bowl of cool water. Yep, life is just grand here at the Rainbow Bridge."
