I'm contemplating leaving home. I'm trying to fashion a little napsack to take some snacks wiff me. You see, I'm unappreciated.
Mom has been planting flowers and herbs like crazy lately. She bought several new planters and large bags of potting soil.
She had 3 large bags of potting & garden soil on the patio. I was out there sniffing around yesterday while she was in the house talking on the phone. I got tired of waiting, so I decided to help her. I ripped the bag open wiff my bare teef to help her and make sure no spiders or other varmints were in there.
She happened to look out the door and she nearly swallowed her teef! She gasped so much I thought I was going to have to bark 911. Really, she was torn between being mad and thinking I was cute. The latter prevailed. Whew!
It was time for Dad to come home so Mom saved it for him to see. He was almost speechless. He helped her clean it up and got the blower out and blew off the patio. I would have thought they would have been more appreciative!
After much thought, I may wait til later to leave. Mom has a huge crock full of treats for Zoe & me. I guess I really have it made.
(By the way, there are still two large bags of garden soil out there! Heeheehee!)

About a month ago on a Tuesday, Mom was walking me around the house. I was tending to some some three-legged business when Mom saw something move about 2 feet behind me. Upon closer observation she saw that it was a snake. YIKES!
It slithered up the side of the foundation of the house, through the louvers in the vent that goes into the crawl space under our house! It happened so fast that she didn't even have time to throw her shoe at it. She also didn't have time to see what kind of snake but it was black wiff some pattern on it.
Mom called Dad at his office and he wouldn't come home to look for it. He tried to reassure her that it couldn't get in the house but I think he was a big chicken. Mom checked around all the places where pipes or wires enter to make sure there was no room for the snake.
Two days later, Thursday Dad was walking me & he saw the snake crawling into the same vent. On Saturday he saw it again!
Mom had to wait til Monday to call Varmint Busters. The man crawled under the house & looked around thoroughly and determined that the snake was not there. He went to his truck to get some new screen to put over the vent where either the satellite tv man, and/or the phone man had pushed out the corner of the old screen to get the wires through & had not fastened it back well.
While the Varmint Busters man was under there fixing the screen the snake was outside and crawled up into the louvers and looked in at him!!!!! He jumped out the door and grabbed the snake by the rear end just in time before it crawled off! He put it in a pail wiff a screen on top of it. He said it was a garter snake. It was between 2 & 3 feet long.
He went back under the house & caulked around the new screen so no more varmints could get in there. He took the snake wiff him & said he would release it in the woods somewhere.
Mom told him she bets he released it earlier in our neighborhood to drum up business!
I had tried to tell Mom something was under there cuz I would go sniff at the vents & she wouldn't listen to me. Now she knows what I was barking/sniffing about.
Mom was so glad I didn't see it first cuz I would have caught it & shaken it's guts out & take it to her to tug wiff me.
Heeheehee

Yesterday I was on the screened porch wiff my mom & Kerry Blue sister, Zoe. Mom & I heard a scratching sound & gnashing of teeth & turned around & Zoe had murdered a black wasp. She was playing wiff it. She was jumping at it, snapping & pawing at it.
We don't know how she did it wiffout getting stung. If she had been stung she surely would have cried. It must have flown in as we came in from one of our many walks. I know she did it to protect Mom & me. That is one brave cookie. Don't mess wiff her!
Thanks Zoe.

Hey Everydoggie,
I just made a new discovery today. My pool is not just for drinking from but also to get my four paws into.
A couple months ago Mom & Dad took me to Critter Fest & there were two pools side by side for us doggies to drink from. I was slurping water from one when low & behold, a Bulldog pup got in the other one & lay down. I was flabbergasted!
Sooooooo, that's what this is for, I thought. Then I stepped cautiously into the sparkling cool water, first one paw, then another, then another, then another. I didn't lie down like the pup, but I loved the way it cooled me off.
The next day Mom got my pool out & cleaned it & filled it wiff water. I drank from it & walked around it but that is all I did for a couple of months.
Then this morning I was out on my new patio that Mom & Dad built for Zoe & me. The sun was getting hot & I was panting. I drank from it & then I stepped into it & right back out. Wheee, that felt good! I did it again, and again, and again. (Mom said about 12-15 times!) I stood longer & longer. I still didn't lie down in it. I guess Mom is glad, as she just paid big bucks to have me groomed on Wednesday.
I LOVE my pool.

Easter Tag
March 31st 2009
If you got tagged, copy these questions, answer them yourself and tag 6 other lucky kitties or pups!
I was just tagged by my friend Jake Puddinbritches, so here we go!
What is your favorite color for Easter eggs?
Yellow & white, just like the inside! BOL
Would you rather be a bunny or a chick?
I would rather be a bunny cuz if I were a chick I might have to lay all these eggs, & it would stretch my sphincter!!! YIKES!!!
How many Easter eggs do you think you'll find when you get to hunt them at your house?
I KNOW I can find them all with this snout of mine. I just put it to the ground & I can track anything, even hours later. After all, I am a hunting dog!
What kind of Easter basket are you hoping for?
I'm hoping for an Easter basket full of treats, rawhide & Beggin' Strips.
The friends I am tagging are....
Luke
Babyface
Antler
PJ
Marlo
Charleyhorse

Today is my 6th birthday. I have had a great day.
Mom gave me a rawhide chewie this morning.
When Dad got home they took me to Petsmart and got loads of treats for me.
They also got me a rubber chicken that squeeks really loud. It is made out of the hard rubber like a Kong. I woof it! I took it to bed wiff me and I am keeping it close so Zoe won't get it.
Thanks to all my friends who sent me well wishes, Rosettes & messages. I wuff it.

Ya know, I think this lil sister thingy is going to work out. This afternoon I got up on the sofa wiff Mom and my new BooBoo. Mom tugged on it for me then Zoe came over and started tugging. We boff growled and then Zoe fell off the sofa but she didn't turn loose. I'm stronger than she is so I was pulling her all over the floor but she held on for a looooooooooooooooong time! Fun, fun, fun!
Yesterday after Mom had taken us boff outside we got the zoomies when we got back inside. We ran back & forth about 90 MPH! Mom was speechless. Zoe was running from the kitchen through the hallway and back. She was so fast that her hind legs were in front of her and her front legs were behind her! BOL

I have a new sister! I got her just this afternoon. Her name is Zoe. She is a Kerry Blue Terrier. She is absolutely BEEEE-U-TEE-FUL!!!
She will be two years old on January 1, 2009, which, by the way, is also my mom's birthday.
The ( former :-) ) owners took her to have her groomed yesterday and she had to be practically shaved cuz she was matted, especially her feet. She is already getting the steely-blue color in her fur. Her head, feet & tail are shaded darker than her body.
She glides when she walks and her lil ears bounce.
I tried to hump her but she barked at me and would have no part of that. She wore me out and I am useless and panting now!
It will take Mom a while to get pix of her and create a Dogster page for her.

I had some excitement today. About 8 am Mom started to walk me. We had just stepped out on my back porch when Mom saw a black CAT run from our neighbor's back yard.
She waited just a moment cuz she knew I would jerk her arm off if she stepped outside right then.
A movement at the end of the house caught her eye.
Then IT came into view!
IT was a big ole BUCK that walked within 10 feet of the end of our house. It went into our back yard where it was going to graze!
I didn't bark but I started snorting and breathing hard and it looked around and saw me and it jumped and started running away at full speed. She didn't get a chance to count the points on his rack, but it had to be at least 8-10 points!
Mom had tried to keep me quite to no avail, cuz she wanted to make a photo but it happened too fast.
The ironic thing is, at this moment Dad is on a deer hunting adventure in Ft. Campbell, Ky.!!!!!
Mom called him and told him he was hunting in the wrong place! He was whispering cuz he was sitting outside under a tree watching for a deer to come by!
Waaaaaaaaahahahaha
