1. I sometimes drool in my sleep. Mom doesn't mind, she says I make cute puddles.

2. I love cats. I like to play and snuggle with them.

3. I like to eat on the couch. Mom puts my bowl of kibble on the couch, so I can lay down, watch TV, and eat my dinner.

4. I hate rain and all kinds of running water.

5. When I was a pup, my whole face was brown and black. In the last few months, however, I've developed lots of white around my snout!

6. I hate having my nails clipped!

7. I'm a little spoiled. I admit it. Mom loves to baby me.

New Food & Bath Time

Mom has been frantic over all of the pet food recalls! Ginger and I had been eating Natural Balance for over a year. But, after they issued their second recall last week, mom just couldn't trust them anymore. We're now eating Innova EVO! The only store that sells it is quite a while away, but its worth it. They manufacture their kibbles in their own plant and it is completely grain-free! We really like it too!

In other news, Ginger and I had a bath today. I normally hate baths, but I did very well! It was warm outside, so it was actually a little fun!

Cool Dog Site of the Day!

Good News!

I went back to the vet for my follow up appointment on Tuesday. The vet did more extensive blood work and I got the results yesterday!

Everything is back to normal! Yay!

As a precaution, I have to stay on my medicine and prescription kibble until next Tuesday. Then, as long as the symptoms don't come back, I get to stop the meds and go back to my normal food!

Feelin' Good

Our weather was so lovely yesterday! Mom, Ginger, and I spent most of the day outside enjoying the sun! Mom played and ran with us a bit. Then, she settled down in a chair while we played some more.

Mom laughed at me because when I got tired, I jumped in her lap and curled up in the chair with her!

It's like she expects me to lay on the ground! Pffft! Not when there is a comfy mommy lap available!

Only $45!

According to a National Pet Owners survey, dog owners spend about $45.00 per year on dog toys


Really? I know that my mom pampers me, but that seems really low! I get (at least) one new toy a week! Those are usually $1 each, so those alone cost $52 a year!

Then, Kong toys are normally around $10 each. I have to get at least one of those a year! I love my Kongs! Plus, I need new, sturdy tug and plush toys every few months!

Plus, I get lots of toys on my birthday and on Christmas! Heck, mom spents more than $45 on each of those occasions alone!

Blood Work Results

I have pancreatitis! :-O The vet said that my pancreatic enzymes are the highest levels he's ever seen! I'm not showing any other symptoms, though, so the vet told mum to watch me closely until Tuesday!

Then, he's going to do more extensive tests! :(

Tummy Ache!

I had to go to the veterinarian today! I had some blood in my poop, so mom panicked!

The doctor gave me a shot and took some blood. I'll get the results of the blood work in the morning, so keep your paws crossed for me!

Until then, I'm not allowed to eat anything! The horror! Then, I start on a bland diet and medicine in the morning!

The Happy Dog's Bedtime Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
The queen-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove,
My human being can hardly move.

I've trapped her legs,
she's tucked in tight,
and here is where I pass the night.
No one disturbs me or dares intrude,
Til morning comes and I want food.

My nibbles on my human's chin.

Yum! Cake!

My grandpa gave my grandma a little cake for Valentine's Day. It looks so tasty! I tried to steal it, but they won't let me have it!

Mom did make me a special Valentine's treat though! Yum! Yum!

New Harness!

I got a new harness today! I look so fabulous! It's red and matches my leash!

I'm so happy to have a harness again! I loved my old one, but i chewed through it when mom wasn't home. Ooops!


Ginger got a harness too. It's black and she looks so cute! Mom also got a harness for the kittens, but they do not like them at all! Maybe, they'll get use to them eventually!

Bright, Sunshiny Day!

Today was a bright and warm day, so we got an extra-long walk. We went all through the woods and got to explore a bit. I had fun, but poor mom kept running into prickly bushes! Silly mom! I don't know why she doesn't look where she's going! BOL!

Then, mum made me a special treat for dinner! It was from this recipe! It was sooo good!

Field Trip!

I had a very exciting day today! Ginger and I got to take a trip to my mom's grandparents' house. They have a huge field that we got to run and play in. It was so much fun! We ran and played for a long time! I had a blast sniffing all the strange smells!

We also got to see Leila, their collie again! She's such a silly doggie, but I was too tired to play with her after romping outside for so long! Maybe, she can come visit us later to make up for it!

Snow!

OMD! I'm so excited! It is snowing! This is the first time I've ever seen or played in snow! It is so much fun!

Walking!

Mom, Ginger, and I just had a really good walk. We walked around our yard and down the street several times! It was so much fun!

Mom says that she's so proud that I am finally learning to walk on a leash properly! When I was a puppy, I would pull and drag mom everywhere! There's no more of that, though! I am all grown up!

I hope this means I can get even more walks!

Ella opened her eyes today! Mom was so excited, that she uploaded all of her pictures and posted them here on Dogster!

Puppy!?!

Wow! I think Santa brought me a puppy!

Mom went outside on the day after Christmas and found an orphaned puppy under our storage building! Mom took it to the vet and learned she's only a little over a week old! She was a bit dehydrated, but the vet fixed that and gave mom lots of tips on how to raise her and keep her healthy!

Her eyes aren't even open, but she's doing really well. She's gaining weight quickly and eating really well! It's a little tiring, because she needs to eat a lot!

She is so cute and tiny! She's black & tan (with a little white) like me and Ginger! We have no idea what breed she may be, but the vet thinkis she'll be medium-large in size... also, like me and Ginger! It must be fate!

We've named her Ella. She has to go back to the vet in a few days (as soon as her eyes open) for another checkup. Keep your fingers crossed for her!



PS: Thanks, Santa! I really wasn't expecting a puppy, but I think she'll fit right into our family!

Christmas & Pictures

My mum apologizes for the lack of new photos. Her camera broke a few months back, but she's getting a new one this Christmas! She promises to take oodles of pictures of me, Ginny and the kitties once she has it!

Speaking of Christmas... I am so excited! Santa is bringing me lots of goodies. I hope I get lots of treats and toys!

New Kitties!

Since I last wrote, we have added two new kittens to our family. Mum rescued to darling little boy kitties and named them Draco and Mr. Nibbles.

They are so sweet! They let me give them kisses!

Play Date!

Layla is on her way to my house for a play date! Yay!

I love playing with Ginger and my mom, but sometimes it's just fun to run around like crazy and play with a doggie that is closer to my size!

Ginny's Okay!

Yay! Ginger isn't sick, afterall! It's just a small bladder infection which she's now on medicine for!

I'm so glad that it's nothing too serious!

All Alone! Woe!

Mummy took Ginger to the vet today and left me here all by myself for two whole hours! I didn't like it at all! Even worse, they're going back tomorrow!

They're worried that Ginny has something called 'diabieties'. They're suppose to get the results tomorrow and I really hope she's okay! She's the best big sister ever! I don't want her to be sick!

TOYS!

Mummy took a webdesign job, but instead of being paid cash, she's getting paid in dog toys! For me! Yaaaaaay!

I can't wait to get them! I love toys! I especially love toys with squeakers, and I like tennis balls, and toys with stuffing, and rope toys for tugging, and Kongs.... I just love toys!

Easter!

We had lots of fun today! I got to hunt eggs and was really good at it. Aunt Terri tried to be tricky and hide some of the eggs in high places, but I'm too smart! I found them anyway!

We also had a nice Easter meal. I got some chicken! Yummy!

Then, mummy played outside with me for a bit. It was way too hot to stay out long, though! I normally get to play for 2 or 3 hours, but one hour was plenty for me today!

Weekend Fun!

We had lots of fun today! I got to run a play outside for a long time while mum and Aunt Terri planted lots of pretty flowers!

I ran back in the house when I saw that Aunt Terri was getting out the hose-pipe, though! I don't trust her around water! She likes to splash me!

Tomorrow, we're going to have a big Easter dinner and then hide-and-seek Easter Eggs! That sounds like fun!

Birthday Goodies!

So, my birthday was last weekend. Mum has finally uploaded some pictures, so here they are:

It's Almost my Birthday!

Yay! Mummy has been busy getting ready for my party tomorrow! I can't wait!

There's going to be 1 cake for the doggies, and even 1 for the humans too! We even get a pinata filled with doggie treats! Plus, we're even having a cookout! It's going to be so fun!

I can't wait for the presents! I've been snooping (I can't help it! I'm a hound!) and saw that mummy got me a new Kong! I'm not sure what else I'm going to get, but I'm sure that I'll love it all!

Mummy will be sure to take and post lots of pictures!

Whew! Babysitting is hard work!

We had our house guest yesterday! Tweety, my great-grandmother's collie, spent the day with us! I wasn't sure if I liked her much at first, but then I showed her around a bit and we started playing! I had so much fun rolling around and running with her! She was a lot of fun! She's such a silly doggie!


Mum says she is so, very proud of me! She says I was a very polite and well-mannered pup! She says that, since I'm such a good girl, we'll try and have Tweety over again soon!

I don't think it will be very soon though, I think walking three doggies at once was a bit too much for my poor mummy!

Back from the Vet

Yay! I'm back from the vet! It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. The vet was really nice!

Mum says that I'm a very healthy pup! The only thing that mum is worried about, is a bump I have on my shoulder. The doctor is going to remove it next month, just as a precaution. He says it shouldn't be anything to worry too much about though!

Vet Appointment!

Oh, no! Mummy has officially scheduled my veterinarian appointment! It will be Tuesday at 2:30!

Do you think that if I look really, really pitiful, she'll decide not to take me?

Big Plans for March!

Mummy has been talking about visiting the veterinarian again! She says it's just a checkup and it's nothing to worry about, but I really don't like doctor visits! Last time I went, I had to stay for a few hours and be "fixed". When mummy came back to get me, I got so excited I piddled all over the floor! Ooops!

Soon after the vet visit, which will be next week, we're going to have a house guest! My great-grandma's collie pup, Tweety, will be spending the night on the 14th.

Then, on March 26th, I turn one year old! Mum is buying me a cake and we're going to have a big birthday party! She keeps telling me that I'm getting lots and lots of presents! I can't wait!

I'm So Smart!

Mum has been teaching me to 'sit' recently! We've only had a few training sessions and I'm respondng about 80% of the time!

Mum says that means that I'm super smart and a very good girl! I like the treats she gives me a lot!

Sharing the Bed

My mum keeps complaining that I've been hogging the bed! Honestly, I can't help it if the bed isn't big enough for both of us anymore! I'm a growing pup; I need to have extra room to stretch out!

However, even if I do hog the bed, I know mum won't ever make me sleep on the doggie bed or in the floor. Secretly, she loves my cuddles and probably wouldn't be able to sleep without me!

I'm am crossing my paws that she'll buy a bigger bed though!
