Arrival Story:
Our 14 year old basset mix had just died and we were so sad. Utah Friends of Basset Hounds rescue group thought we would be a match for him. Picked him up sight unseen from the vet after he was neutered. We had older dogs for the last few years, so having a cute, funny puppy guy was great. Bos has loads of personality and just makes us laugh all the time.

Bio:
His sister Sasha has some issues and does not get along well with all dogs. Bos treats her like a princess and just LOVES her. In return, she gets along really well with him. She has separation anxiety, so she is glad to have him around when the humans aren't.

My Life with Sasha

Smelly Me

So yesterday my human brother took us to the gully. He is much
more fun than mom, because we go a lot further. There is a stream
we can get into to cool off when it is hot. There is also lots of horse
poop. I LOVE to roll in horse poop ! Sasha never rolls in anything,
she is always the princess. She also doesn't get yelled at. When we
get home, Sasha is wet and sandy from the stream. I am wet, sandy,
and horse poopy. Before we can go into the house, we get sprayed
off with the garden hose. Sasha seems to enjoy it, but it just annoys
me a lot. How dare they take away my wonderful smell!

"Cranky" Disclaimer

Sasha's Diary: So Bos and I are a bit annoyed about my mom saying I am “cranky”. When I first got here a year ago, there was a old basset mix named Chloe. We tolerated each other, but got into it a couple times over treats. There was blood involved here. My mom picked up all the chewies and would only let us have them when she was supervising. Chloe was very old and sick and she died. The humans were really sad, so here came Bosley. We really get along great. We both go for pets and we share the attention. I let him lick my ears. Sometimes, though, I guard my treats and don’t let him near them. If he has finished his, and looks like he is going for mine, I growl and snap at him to make sure he knows they aren’t his. I HAVE NEVER BITTEN HIM, AND WE HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A FIGHT. I just like to intimidate him a bit. We told my mom to post the new picture of Bos sleeping with his head on my butt so you can see how well we get along.

Bosley’s Diary: Sasha is right. We don’t really fight, but sometimes she does warn me to stay away from her treats. She will growl and snap at me and kind of come toward me to scare me, but she always stops before she actually gets to me. I try to look afraid, because she likes that. I just wait until she starts doing something else, and then I go snag the chewie for me. Sometimes if it is taking too long I go to the front window or the door and bark like someone is there. Then when Sasha comes to help me bark, I can grab the treat. Once I have it, she never does anything.

A Gully Walk in the Snow

Bosley’s diary: Today we went to the gully for a run, and it was snowing pretty hard. It was so much fun. There are lots of dog and horse smells and we have even seen deer a couple of times. I absolutely have to be out front and lead the way. My sister Sasha thinks she is in charge most of the time, so
this is my one chance to BE FIRST.

Sasha’s diary: Today we went to the gully for a run. Bos stopped to smell something and I got ahead of him, so he had to bomb his way past my mom and me (I stay pretty close to mom)--just knocked us right out of the way. Bosley thinks this is his one chance to be the leader and be first. But I have news for him. There are cougars and coyotes and all kinds of things in the gully. I only let him be first because if someone is going to get eaten, it won’t be me !. Ha Ha
