Likes: He loves his Doxie brother, Rudy & he totally loves his Mommy!
Pet-Peeves: Like Teddy, he doesn't like his butt messed with. What is it about Shelties and their backsides?
Favorite Toy: Likes all squeekies, anything to chew on, but Rudy is still his favorite 'toy'. Now that he's older I think the balls are his favorite. He races to be the first to get the ball. He usually always wins...
Favorite Food: Eats his dry food real well. Daddy spoils him & lets him lick the bottom of the ice cream bowl.
Favorite Walk: Any place where there are no strange sounds, or barks! He's a bit skittish.
Best Tricks: He's a bouncer and a prancer and will pose in my hands like a handsome little show puppy! Now that Bubble is older - He is most impressive with catching the ball right in his mouth from a distance.
Arrival Story: I lost my best boy in the whole world, Teddy Bear, in August. Kasey (my female Sheltie) and I were very, very sad, and Kasey was lonely to sit outside in the windy days without her Teddy Bear. We got Andy for us....
Bio: I had been looking at Sheltie breeders and knew that a blue merle would likely have at least one blue eye, which is what Kasey & I decided we wanted in honor of Teddy. After many weeks of looking, a lady in North Carolina had a litter that had a bi-blue (no tan) male. I knew when I saw his pic at 1 day old, he was for us. So Kasey and I waited, and waited , and waited. Every week we would get a new picture of Dusty (his 1st name before he came), and still we waited. We knew we couldn't know his eye color until after 3 weeks, and when finally the day came to see his little face with his eyes open, we were ecstatic... Two blue Eyes!!
Finally on Friday, Dec 2nd, little baby bi-blue flew from Yadkinville, NC to Big D! And lucky Andy, he was able to fly all the way to Texas with his brother, a bi-black who was sold to a lady just 30 miles from our house!
Andy fits in nicely with our household. He is developing a very sweet, gentle personality. He plays hard with my male Dachshund and loves him more than anything! When Andy had to go to the vet for shots the other day, Rudy waited by the door and paced anxiously the whole time we were gone. He is very protective of his new little buddy!
I am extra, extra excited today- It's my birthday! I am 1 year old. I have lived in Texas with my Mommy & Daddy and brothers and sisters for almost 1 year. I love it here! I love chasing the birds, running back and forth in Mommy's garden, and everything else we puppies do! I have stopped chewing the baseboards which makes Mommy happy but occasionally I sneak back for a little snack. Sometimes I still substitute the woody stem of the house plant in the hall, but I'm getting kind of tired of that.
I love my Sheltie sister but she's a lot older than me and she doesn't want to play all day long like I do. So usually I play with my Doxie brothers and my Doxie sister. My Doxie sister is only about as big as my butt (and No, I do not have a big butt), and she & I play the best.
Mommy says my coat will start to grow in and get long like Kasey's in the next year, and I will be even more handsome than I am now.
But I don't care... CAUSE TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! And I get my own bowl of ice cream to lick tonite!! I was promised!
