Costume Contest at my Local Dog Store

Friday there was a costume contest. The dog store was decorated with webs, and lots of fun spooky stuff. There were treats for everyone and a raffle. There were about 30 animals entering the contest. Most are dogs, but a few cats braved the scene.

We were all numbered. Amadeus and I went. Amadeus was a pirate, and I wore my 50's outfit with the Poodle skirt... I mean Chihuahua skirt.

1st place went to a booder collie as Sailor Moon.
2nd place me!
3rd place a young cat with Angel wings.

I won a gift certificate, dog food and dog treats! Yay!! I'm told I have to share my winnings with my family. I'm not allowed to get all fat off of it my own.

I thought it was really cool I won. I'm so excited. Ami and I were the only Chis there. There were some Papions, mutts, pit bulls, labs, pekeapoos, and all sorts of breeds. Ami made over the laides as usual. He was nervous and cold. He stayed inside of Daddy's jacket a lot. I wanted to be held too. Mommy held me most of the time. But a lot of ppl wanted my picture. So I stood for pics too.

It was a fun night. I hope Dawson, Skylar and Kiara can try one day too.

It's my 4th Birthday!!

Wow! I can't believe it's my birthday! And I got my two wishes!

Wish one was to get better! I had a little cold ysterday. I had a tummy ache and the sniffles. I got better last night. Then wish two... it will be 70 degrees today! I got a warm day for my birthday! I'm so excited! It will drop 20 degrees tomorrow, so I'm blessed that the warm day fell on my birthday!

As my gift, Mommy took me to work today so I wouldn't be alone for my birthday. I got on my green and pink pearly dress for St. Patrick's Day and am snuggled up in my bed watching Mommy work. I'm so happy!

Now if only my biggest wish wil come true. I hope Kiara feels better. She pinched her back again. She isn't doing well. I'm hoping the medicine wil kick in and the inflamation will go down so she feels better. Poor girl!

Cold

Why is it when a pup hurts in this family we all fall apart all at once? I'm sick today and Kiara hurt her back!

I was in bad shape last Thursday and I think it lowered my immuned system, becausse I have a bad tummy ache today. I just laid on my side all morning and wanted to do nothing. I didn't care that the weather is warmer. I just wanted to stay in the snuggly blankets and have my pain gone.

Kiara is the same way. She's on meds and I got extra food just in case. Daddy just thinks I have a cold so not to worry too much. But they're keeping a close eye on me.

I can't be sick. Tomorrow is my barkday! I just have to be better tonight. There's no other course.

Sick Day

Well, last night and today has been terrible. I always sleep with Mommy and Daddy on the bed becuase I'm so good. Through the middle of the night my pawrents woke up their blankets soaked and the mattress wet. They couldn't believe that I "bladder of steel" would do this. I whimpered. Mommy took the sheets to the washer while Daddy took me outside. Daddy started bisseling the mattress and Mommy carried me, noticing I was bloated like the Goodyear Blimp.

I kept waking them up over and over saying I had to go. Most of the time I did. I'm very sick. A partial blockage or something. My bloating is slowly going down. They dont' want to give me an enima and send me into a epiliptic shock. I have a very delicate system.

So as long as I'm peeing and pooping, the vet says just keep an eye on me. Everything should pass with time and the bloating go down.

Now Mommy has missed work to take me out constantly and I just feel crummy. But I'm so happy to have Mommy with me. I feel safer.

I don't know what got into me to make me bloat and go potty constinatly. Mommy swears I must be pooping my insides out, cuz she can't imagine anything more inside of me. I don't care, I just want to feel better.

Discovery

I went back to the vet yesterday!

It seems I had a couple of seizures. I was so scared. I peed all over Daddy during a seizure, and I didn’t want him to put me down. I didn’t know what was happening to me.

Mommy was out of town on business, so Daddy rushed me to the vet by himself.

Come to find out I have epilepsy. Can you believe it? Wow!

That’s why I have a torn ACL. Muscles can tear during a seizure.

I’m now on medication that should take care of the problem. So hopefully I will feel better and no more seizures and no more tearing muscles. I’m looking forward to healing and getting better.

I don’t know how many of my Chi friends on Dogster have epilepsy, but I hear it can be very common in Chihuahuas. I would love to hear your stories or experiences, but I’m hoping that just this pill will take care of it (and that rest will take care of my torn ACL and heal quickly).

Time to Pawty!

Have you seen this month's Dogster E-letter? My pic New Year pic with me in my gold dress is in it for "Time to Pawty!" Whoo-hoo! What an honor!! What a great pick me up from all this craziness I've been going through. Thank you Dogster.

I'm still heavily medicated. I have good days and bad days. My ACL is still torn and my leg is still popping in and out now and then, but I have my good days too where I want to play and walk. Hopefully, I'll get better and it won't tear more or stay popped out.

I wan't to stay warm and get better! That's my 2009 resolution!

And I make 3

Okay it's been CRAZY round here. First Kiara hurt herself. She got a pinched disc in her back. she's still working to get 100%. Then Skylar had a stroke. She's 100% now... thank goodness!!! Well you've heard how things come i n threes. I was next.

I tore my ACL. I ripped my back left leg. It hurts very badly. I don't like walking and I fall over a lot. I am on a lot of bed rest and have to take lots of medicine. But I do have to walk to stengthen my muscles. But as I have bad knees, they say I may get arthritis in my legs or may tear my leg completely and need a surgery in the future!!! Things don't look to good, but we're hoping for the best.

We're all just grateful that we have one another and we're doing okay. We wish all our friends a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Burst of energy

Every morning I do the potty dance and get taken out and then come in with some free time before Mommy and Daddy leave for work. All us pups are together in the family room with our toys. I usually whimper to be lifted up on the couch and have my heating pad turned on so I can warm up. I just cuddle in a ball and watch the other pups play like crazy.

Well today I was brought in and the heating pad didn't beckon to me. I wanted to play. Now as a general rule I play for about 30 minutes in the late afternoon when Mom and Dad come home and then I'm pooped. I rarely play long.

Today it was like I drank a double espresso!! I was playing with my soccar ball, my snowman, my favorite toy: my monkey. And best of all I killed a napkin. Yep! One fell to the floor and I shreaded it to tiny, tiny pices. I even chased Amadeus around a bit. That little energizer bunny pooped out way before I did.

I played for 2 and a half hours! Go me! I hope I was able to shead a ounce or two. But I had so much fun.. I growled and barked and had my lil' ol' butt in the air.

Mommy was so sad to leave for work... she only got to see a few minutes of it. She even grabbed Daddy to watch me play. Shw was so amazed. Daddy luckily had to do some inventory from his laptop before heading out to some calls. So he was able to stay home and watch me play. I finally asked to go to the heating pad and crashed.

Daddy ended up putting us all up when he went to work. I got my usual spot on the bed curled up in lots of blankets. I always stay there until they come home.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share my amazing engery boost with everyone!

Amadeus and I are on Dogster's Newsletter!

Of course it says under the famous photo, "Can't we all just get along? You love them. They love you. They love each other... occasionally. Squabbling dogs got you down?"

That picture was pulled from Amadues' dogster page. And though tagged "fighting" is also tagged "playing". We're play-fighting and are having fun with a toy. We were getting along and not squabbling. We are friendly chis.

However, that being said (in a sing-song voice) we're famous, we're famous. Do a little chi dance!!!

Not my best shot mind you, it's the underside of my head. But I don't have the bulging eyes Ami does in the photo either!

I won 2nd place!!

In the Plus Fun Forum I entered a best dressed contest. I won 2nd place! Isn't that exciting. I entered in my 1950 poodle... I mean Chihuahua skirt outfit. Yay!!!

I won a butterfly and a blue ribbon and 5 zealies! I'm so honored!!!
