It's my Pup-Day!!!

Yes, can you believe I'm now 8 years old!!! Wow. I'm feeling old. But so is Dawson! Haha! It's fun sharing a birthday with him even though we aren't from the same litter.

It's yucky outside. It cool and rainy. I hate the rain. What a terrible birthday gift. I was hoping for a wlak or going to the store for treats, but not with all this rain. I'm going to try and avoid going outside as much as possible.

Just give me belly rubs and peanut butter, or chicken. I love chicken!

Terrible weather yesterday

It was so rainy and windy. I hated it. The snow almost all melted and mud was left in it's place. And the wind howled. It was awful. Amadeus almost blew over. I hope today is much better.

We had some mild days and yesterday was a reminder that it's still winter! Yuck! It got in the mid to high 50s. And now it'll be mid to low 40s. I enjoyed it while I had it though. I can't wait for spring to start. I want to go on walks again and see all the pretty flowers.

Shaky but getting better

Well this stroke was not on my list of things to do. But I had a thorough examination. I've a clean bill of health. Nothing is wrong with me, except the stroke. The stroke caused my brain to swell and so I have neurological problems. I can't walk right, I am relearning stuff like sit, eating without falling over, going up and down stairs, just normal stuff.

Mommy and Daddy have been good to me. They've made me feel loved no matter what. They're also my physical therapists. They are helping me walk and do all the things I usually do. they're very protective of me right now. I think Kiara is just happy to have the attention off of her for a while. (She's on 8 weeks of bed rest AGAIN.)

I'm slowly getting better. We don't know how much of a recovery I'll get and it could take days or weeks. But the outcome looks positive.

Thank you everyone for your support, emails, paw-rayers, power of the paw and rosettes. It helps me stay postive about the whole ordeal.

I'm sure I'll be as good as new.

I had a stroke.

My pawrents came home today to see me falling over. They took me to the vet to discover I had a stroke. I'm only 7, very young to have a stroke. The vet took tests to see why. I am having problems thinking straight. I have to get my cordination back. It may take a few days. I hope the vet finds out why I had this stroke. More details later.

Why me?

I usually get UTIs a lot. It's not the best theing to catch all the time, but at least I get them so often I get medicine at the first signs and get better in no time.

Well, I showed signs Friday. Mommy and Daddy had left over medicine and gave it to me for 3 days. Sunday night I was no better. I even began peeing on the floor. So Monday I went to the vet.

I had a blockage. My stool crystalized. I wasn't pooping. Mommy and Daddy were monitoring my peeing they didn't even notice I wasn't pooping!!

Needless to say I was given an enema. I went home after a few hours.

Well next day, last night, I still didn't seem better. Mommy and Daddy gave me a homemade enema. Soapy water. More came out.

I'm in pain and miserable. I'm hoping I'm getting better, but the last few days i've done nothing but lay down and shake. I want to enjoy turkey day tomorrow. I hope I get better very soon. I will keep you all informed.

Learning a new trick

I'm learning a new trick. Not much of one, but I'm too lazy for tricks. I'm learning twirl. Not Dawson's twirl on hind legs only, but on all fours. Maybe we should call it circle. But it's something new. I haven't gotten it completely... sometimes I lay down in the middle of going in a circle. But hey... new tricks aren't easy. Especially for a pup like me.

A Place to call my OWN

Well, I hate to say this, but Dawson and I are the bad ones. Not bad as BAD, but we must be crated during sleeping hours and Mommy/Daddy working hours or we'll be bad. Arwen and Kiara don't have that problem, and Amadeus is still a puppy. We're good and say when we need to go out, but if Mom or Dad are gone or sleeping, we just don't wait. So we're the bad ones.

Anyhow, we have a big crate we (Dawson and I) share. Kiara has a crate too and sometimes she's in it and others she's not. Arwen's "crate" is the bed. She loves the blankets and pillows. Then Amadeus has a small baby crate.

Well, Mommy decided it was time I have my own crate. Dawson got the "old" crate and I got my own. I can stretch out and be over my own space. However, old habits die hard and I go insinctively to Dawson's crate. Ours are beside each other and I'm used to following him.

I do like my very own crate, but it's just going to take time to get used to the idea. I'll let you know when it becomes home.

I'm now the lucky # 7!!

Dawson and I turned 7 years old on Tuesday!!! 7 is a lucky number not an old number-right? Anyway, Mommy was so busy she forgot. She says that June just sneaks up on her and she just blanked. What kind of excuse is that? Daws and I promised we'd forgive her only if she had a BIG party for us this weekend to tell us how special we are!! I expect LOTS of belly rubs-like crazy! I'm not much on treats. She remembered yesterday and felt very guilty! I hope that means lots of BELLY RUBS and KISSES!!!! 7 should be a lucky fun number, so the make-up for forgetting better be worth it!

New puppy!

Things are interesting at home. New dog and all. Doesn't phase me. I just lounge as always. Sometimes he runs over me as if he doesn't see me. As long as he isn't pulling my tail, it's all good.

Amadeus and I both have blue eyes, so that's cool... though he has more green in his. I'm still getting attention, so I'm cool.

He hasn't bothered me yet. But i'm the lazy one, so I probably don't interest him. I'll let you all know if that ever changes.

Sisters and a Peke

Well, my grandma came and dropped off her 2 dogs to be babysat by my Mom and Dad on Sunday. They are staying until Wednesday. Grandma has my litter sister and a pekingese. My sister is Kai-Li and the pekingese (not related to Kiara, just by breed) is Shai-Ming.

They are both sorta fun to play with. Kai-Li likes to lay in Dad's lap alone while Shai-Ming likes to play around and chase and lick all of us and wrestle around with Mommy. We all prefer to play with Kai-Li, especially Kiara, they love each other. However, Shai-Ming doesn't know how to really play and he's a little overbearing. He loves everyone though. Just like me Mingster like the belly rubs!

So it's not too bad, just very busy. But Mom and Dad are making sure we each get individual, special attention. We all get more treats more often too while they're here. Not a bag gig. Just one huge slumber party!
