Arrival Story:
I was looking for a Shih Tzu puppy and heard of a lady who breeded them. I phoned her and she told me about her little two-year old who had a hard time delivering her pups and needed an emergency c-section. She wouldn't breed her anymore and wanted to find a good home for her. Because I work full time I decided a dog already house-broken was a good idea, but wasn't convinced until I saw her for the first time, and fell in love!

MY SOUTHERN VACATION APRIL 07

I was getting excited, Mommy kept telling me we were going on a long ride to see Aunt Faunn. I love bye bye trips, and I had such a good vacation in Canada so I was excited. But this time, no boat rides, no hiking, no going to watch bears. Instead, Mommy and Daddy thought it would be fun to show me the ocean. Hey, I remember what happened at the lake last summer, so I was prepared! No way was I going to walk up to that big tub of water! And it made a loud noise that I didn't like, and the water kept running toward me! It was so frightening! Mommy said she just wanted me to experience it. Ok, enough already! Those experiences I don't want.

Another day they left me all day to go somewhere I couldn't go. This lady came in who I had never seen before and said Aunt Faunn told her to come and let me out! How do I know that was true? I ran and ran and wouldn't let her catch me. I barked, showed my teeth (even though I would be too afraid to bite, but she didn't know that)! I put on my most ferocious act and she was afraid to touch me. I guess I showed her! She called on the phone and tattletailed to aunt Faunn who told my daddy and they said to just leave me be! Ha! So there, red-headed mean lady! But I heard later that she was telling all her friends that my name should be Kujo!

I loved being with my aunt Faunn, but we came back home and it was good to get on my own Mommy and Daddy's bed again. Alas, vacations are so tireing!

MY VACATION SEPT 06

Well, I found out what a vacation is! A vacation is where I go every place that Mommy and Daddy go, I get to eat things they normally would not let me eat, we lay in the sun, take hikes and, heaven forbid, go swimming! Well, the swimming part was one big misunderstanding on my part. Mommy walked out into the water up to her knees and called me. I had never seen so much water before and thought I could walk on it. I wanted to please Mommy so I ran down the bank and right out to her, but all of a sudden there was nothing under my paws and I was swimming! Wow! I didn't even know I could swim, and hope I never have to do it again! I suddenly realized that I was swimming out deep far away from Mommy. I made a turn and swam back, but she was laughing and I didn't see the humor, so I didn't stop next to her, I went right up on the shore and glared at her! Well, Mommy dried me off and put my sweater on me as I was chilled. But she hugged me and told me what I good girl I was, so I forgave her.
I got to ride in the boat every time Mommy and Daddy went out. They had this long thing they kept throwing into the lake and sometimes would actually pull in this THING that flipped and flopped and sprayed water on me. I didn't like that one bit, so every time I saw they were pulling something in, I would jump off my seat and go to the very front of the boat where that THING couldn't splash me. But I enjoyed it out in the sun in the boat. I never had so much fun! We hiked all over the hill and drove up to watch bear. Mommy wanted to show me my first bear, but there was none around when we got there. What is a bear?
The best part about my vacation was that Mommy and Daddy never went away and we shared every minute of the day with each other.
Now I am looking forward to going again, but Mommy says it will be awhile, but she promised to take me. I am a very happy old pup!

AUGUST 2006

This has been a great summer! Mommy says pretty soon we won't be going outdoors to play any more. She said it will be too cold. But Mommy made me a sweater and she is busy making me some more to keep me warm when I go out to go potty. Mommy and daddy are talking about our vacation coming up. I don't understand what vacation is, but it has something to do with fishing and a boat and water. I don't know what fishing is, or what a boat is, but water I do not like. But at least I get to go with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy said if she couldn't take me, she wasn't going to go either. She said 10 days is out of the question to leave me somewhere. So Daddy called someone and asked if I could come along, and when he got off the phone Mommy started jumping up and down and yelling, so I started jumping up and down and barking too. I guess it was good news. At least Mommy was very happy about it. So I am waiting to see what this is all about. As long as they take my cookies, my blankie, and my food! And I know everything will be alright as long as I am with Mommy and Daddy.
