I work at an Adult Home that houses the Mentally Ill.
I had off on Tuesday, May 4, and it was one of the Resident's (Tina) birthday. I asked my Boss if I could bring Tess by, and she thought it was a great idea. When we got there, the first Resident we saw, was a man in a wheel chair, Tess was a bit freaked out about it at first, so, we went inside to see Tina. I told Tina that Tess heard it was her birthday and just had to come down and wish her a happy one. Tina was thrilled to see her, petted her, hugged her, and kissed her, and even thanked Tess for coming for her birthday.
I brought Tess around to see the other Residents, and most of them were thrilled to get to pet her as well. I gave the Resident with a walker a treat, and Tess didn't seen to mind the walker at all. I brought Tess back to the man with the wheel chair, and she was fine. He got to pet her, and she gave him kisses.
All my co-workers and my Boss loved her as well, and she is invited to come back sometime as well. I was extremely proud of her. Someone tried to get Tess to jump up on them. I told them that she wasn't allowed, because her nails might accidentally hurt them, and Tess was good and didn't even try, which impressed everyone.
On Saturday, March 20, 2010, I brought Tess to an APBA show. She gets to be in the Limited Class (Spay/Neuter class). She took three 2nd places.
However, the highlight of the day is Tess took the test for the CGC and passed! She really impressed me. I am very proud of her. Just wanted to throw that out there. :)
However, we have gotten Tess involved in weight pulling. Her first time out was pulling a cart and she pulled 400lbs. Her second time out was on the rails, and she only pulled 200lbs, but I think the noise freaked her out a little, so, we've been practicing and trying to get her used to the sound.
Besides, that everything is the same. Tess is still a great dog. :)
