healthy and fit. monroe was his shelter name momo came out of that.
in every pic he looks like a diffrent type of dog. the shelter say he is a yorkie mix. He has big almond shape eyes and 10½ inches measured at the withers & floppey ears and his tail curls over back like a Havanese. HE is way longer that tall(may have some silky terrier.) he hads a gold head white chest gold legs and white feet. and his long back is black .gold on the sides . some one said he look like a puppymill mix-up. what do u think? yorkie-beagle mixed.

VET-REHAB OR VET TECK HOME NEEDED FOR MIXED YORKIE
As a non-medical person, it's hard to know if your vet has prescribed the best medical treatment. We tend to trust that we are placing our pets where they will get safe, effective and the most-up-to date procedures. As with any profession from your hair stylist, car mechanic to your own doctor, you realize some are better than others. Same with vets, some are more personable, smarter, skilled and do more research.
A general vet can't possibly be as up-to-date on specialized areas as a neurosurgeon can. You would not go to your own general doctor for brain surgery, you'd be referred to a specialist, a neurosurgeon. If at anytime you question something, or just don't feel right, seek a second opinion, consult with a specialist, do your own research on the Internet, communicate with support groups who've been there/ done that. Be an educated consumer so you understand what your vet is saying and ask good questions,
mo-mo depends on me!
I feel i let mo-mo down i saw no signs of ivdd i knew nothing about it. he just went down and i just rushed him to met vet the only place that i found open on that sunday i will never forget.
HIS BACK LEGS WERE NOT WORKING HE WAS DOWN. AND THEY SENT US HOME WITH MEDS. AND SAID HE HAD IVDD. AND NEEDED TO REST.

He may or
may not walk again.

IF YOU STAN HIM UP AND TICKLE THE
SIDES OF HIS LEGS HE WILL MOVE THEM .
(i feel deep pain comes and goes.)
right now we have to empty his bladder.

if you can help in anyway
e-mail me firstname.lastname@example.org or call us.

mo-mo will be 7 years old this aug.
he has come a long way.
when he was 3 we met at a shelter he was picked up as a fat stray.
he went down in oct of 2006 with intervertebral disc disease. we had to get the Surgery or put him down. we had to try to help so Surgery it was. the Surgery saved his life but we feel it may have came to late to save his legs. med vet said you got what you got.

My name is Melody Johnson and this is the story about my dog MoMo.
I adopted MoMo on my birthday 2005 (Aug 1). He was sick and over weight 9see fat pic)with a cold when I first bought him home, but i nursed him back to health. He lost weight, regained his energy and was a happy, regular playful dog. Just the thought of seeing him so happy and knowing that I saved him from being left at the animal shelter. Left all alone not knowing what his future would be made me so happy and proud, I decided to volunteer at the shelter. I wanted to help other dogs find a home so just like Mo Mo they wouldn't be left all alone, or in some cases tragically put down.
On the morning of Oct 15 I wnet to take Mo Mo out for his morning walk.
He was always so excited to go out, he would roll on his back, kick his little legs in the air and do what I eventually called "The Mo Mo Dance"
Unfortunately on this morning he was laying byy the front door. He didn't
want to move. When he stood up his back legs wobbled. He was able to walk, but not very far. He looked scared, and so was I. The only place open in my area on weekends for pet emergencies is a place called,Med Vet of Ohio. I rushed Mo Mo there hoping that things weren't as bad as
they appeared. His condition was getting worse and I began to really get worried. Mo Mo was taken in immediately upon arrival. The lobby was full of people with pets who needed help, but Mo was taken in right away. His condition was bad. My heart began to race. Did he.have
a Stroke? I didn't know. All I could do is wait and pray. After waiting
for what seeemed like forever, I was taken to a room. Mo Mo wasn't
there. The Dr comes in, but he doesn't look too concerned. He tells me
Mo Mo has IVD Intervertebral Disc Disease.
Intervertebral Disc Disease is the result of degenerative changes, which can result in the disc pushing into the spinal canal. this leads to pressure on the spinal cord, causing injury to the nervous tissue, and pain. I was given pain killers and other medicine to help reduce swelling.
I was told by the Doctor that Mo Mo would be ok, but when i took him home the medicine didn't work and Mo got worse. He lost feeling in his back legs and couldn't go out to relieve himself.. I knew something was wrong so I rushed him to my vet on Tue. She recommended Mo have immediate surgery to relieve the pressure on his spine. He had a RupturedDisc.
Mo had surgery on Oct 17. He had a 50 to 75 % chance of regaining feeling in his hind legs as well as being able to have his kidneys function properly. i didn't have the heart to take Mo back to the shelter to be put down. He is only 4 years old, So i borrowed the money to pay for his operation($2800)and try to save his life.
Prayers for Mo Mo. any kind of advice would help!
some people say it may take 9 mo. others say after 3 mo, if he is not walking he will not.
others say a year.
i could use all the help i can get. i don't want to give him up! or give up on him.
