Arrival Story:
She was pregnant and roaming. By the time she was caught, she had had the pups (which were never found) and was very weak and when someone said in her hearing "oh she's a very lucky dog" she just had the energy to react - hence the name Lucky stuck!! She was fostered while her physical problems were being sorted out, and I was asked to take her on. I nearly said No, as I was still grieving for my Maya, gone to Rainbow Bridge 18 months before. But I was told I was the ideal Forever Mommy and that as soon as she was picked up off the street, they knew at once she was the perfect furbaby for me to give me the affection I needed and for me to give her all the love I had still to offer a furbaby.

Bio:
She is so like my Taffy who went to the Bridge in 1987, in the way she plays and her affectionate nature. So I call her my little Taffeta! She is bilingual and understands words and phrases in both French and English. She comes almost everywhere with me that a dog is allowed to go; she adores travelling in the car and settles down on "her" seat next to me in the front. Her name means: Janna - Flourishing; Coralie - Little Maiden. She is very flourishing and a little Madam!!!

The Lucky Life

Woof there!
My name's Lucky. I chose it...it sounded nice when the nice men grabbed me and stroked me and a nice lady came along and said "oh what a lucky dog!"
Also known affectionately to my pals as LJ cos my foster daddy called me Lucky Jess then my Forever Mommy said she would keep the name Lucky but that I was to be Janna. Thats a pretty name, it means "Flourishing" and oh boy! if you could just see my shiny glossy black coat!!! :-) It is really thick now that Winter is here and Mommy says I am like a sheep with big matts of wool!!!
When I first went to live with Mommy in June last year, I didnt like the food that she and foster daddy said doggies had to eat. Foster daddy used to spoil me and give me yummy people food which I used to sneak out of the trash when I was on the run before I was caught. But Mommy said I had to have doggy food and boy! was that hard! Couldnt get my teeth through it for ages!!!
Then she gave me all sorts of funny tasting things: hard things that tasted of yeast (yuk!) - bone shaped hard things that tastd of nothing much at all or of herbs and mint - choccy things - chewy things - soft sweeties...ah they were the best! they didnt hurt my teeth. But slowly I realised that if I tried to eat all these funny doggy things, I got to have some yummy people things put on top sometimes...so now I think I'm 99% dog after all LOL
Last summer Mommy took me to lots of shows where there were doggies and I had to walk round and round and sit and give my paw to a nice man and then wag my tail lots and lots! Oh and I won some lovely coloured flowers that Mommy pinned on my collar!!!! and some yummy things that she gave me to eat when we got home.
We went to help at a show and there was a Lucky Dip for doggies. And all the parcels were wrapped up but I was able to pick out the ones that contained my favourite yummy sweeties!!! then other doggies came to have a dip and I grumbled at them and my auntie Teresa said "Thats definitely a Lucky dip!!!!!"
I went on a long Walkies to help earn some money for the people who caught me cos they have lots of other doggies and lots of doctor bills to pay. So Mommy dressed me in a tee shirt and we went long Walkies 4 times round my favourite big lake and all the little peoples said "ooh look theres a doggy wearing a tee shirt!"
Mommy says we're doing that again next summer!
When Mommy goes to work I go to Uncle's. We go in the car and when we get there, I walk with Uncle or Lucy up to my run where there are lots of other doggies nearby. And we have a lot of chat and then 2 or 3 times Uncle lets me out in the big paddock and I run and chase leaves and belt round like a dervish! Then Mommy comes to pick me up and I go running down the yard to greet her and try and dart to one side so I can have an extra 5 minutes sniffing the trees before she catches me!!
Gotta go for now cos I'm very tired but I'll tell you more soon.
Woofs and wags from
Lucky xx
