I was lucky to share my life with Sophie for nearly seven years, until she died fairly suddenly of kidney cancer eight days after her seventh birthday, and nine days after we got the heartbreaking diagnosis. I couldn't have asked for a better or more loving dog, and I miss her every day. Late at night I cry and tell baby Ruby all about her older sister.
