Arrival Story:
When I saw his picture on PetFinder.com, I knew he was going to be our dog. But I didn't tell my boyfriend and let him pick his favorite, too. And we both picked Furio!
His first day home, at eight pounds, he picked up a baseball and started running around with it. He's been our little tough guy ever since!
Bio:
When he was eight weeks old, a shelter worker found him at the pound in terrible health. His brother, who was with him, was so sick that he died. The shelter worker bathed him and got him to a vet and fixed up. Two weeks later, we adopted him!
Now it's a few years later and our little guy has suffered from hip dysplasia & epilepsy. He's a trooper, though. After a bit of surgery, supplements, and medication, he's still our smiley furball!

So it just happens to be my birthday and Dogster just happened to make Bloodhounds (which is part me) the featured dog. Odd coincidence...I'm just saying...

Things seemed to be going alright lately (only one or two seizures per month), but then my parents went out of town. I had five seizures in one hour and my aunt tearfully rushed me to the vet. They said she was more upset than I was and did some more bloodwork. It was scary and took me a little while to bounce back, but now I'm fine. (My poor aunt, though, is still recovering from the trauma. Mom owes her a dinner!) My mom is constantly amazed by my ability to not be too distressed over the seizures!

Thank you for all the kind wishes & thoughts! We really appreciate it! My vet has given me the status of "a work in progress". We'll take that!
My seizures are a bit more under control. I'm back to having only having one seizure at a time now. And my liver seems to be keeping up.
In other health news, I aggravated my hip dysplasia (the hip that didn't have surgery) by chasing a opossum across the backyard. Stupid opossums.
