Arrival Story: I found Chenzi the day of her scheduled Euthanization at the Corona Shelter. I walked by her cage and fell in love. I knelt down beside her cage and she put her nose through the bottom of the entrance and placed her paw on my hand. I knew she was meant to be mine. When I got in line to buy her, the folks behind me asked for her as well. The gentleman at the shelter said, "Sorry folks but this young lady just bought her." They told me good luck and Chenzi came to live with me and my parents. At the time, Disney's "The Lion King" just came into theaters and I named her after Whoopi Goldberg's character, the Hyena, Chenzi.

Bio: Chenzi was only 4 months old when I found her at the pound. Underweight and had a worms. When I got her home to our huge yard, she literally jump for joy. It is an image I hope to never forget. It was precious. When I moved away 4 years later and couldn't have a dog in my apartment, my parents became her main humans. It was difficult to not have her with me but I tried to visit her often over the course of the next few years...Chenzi is now on Rainbow Bridge after losing her battle with stomach cancer. She is still very loved and missed.
