Likes: mama, the ladies, calmly happy kids, snugglin', running, jumping up to catch a ball, wrestly little girl dogs, sneaking a sleep on the bed, tug of war, keep away, his peeps

Pet-Peeves: people who are scared of him, fireworks, the evil evilness that is the kitchen egg timer, and nailguns

Favorite Food: he's a raw dog--but apples keep him coming too

Favorite Walk: anyplace with his peeps, hiking in the woods with the kids in the picture

Best Tricks: spin!, high five LEFT and high five RIGHT; responding to his "come" whistle; touch; sitting before dinner all expectant and good

Arrival Story: Chumley was at the ASPCA for a year before we got him. Then he came to live with us and it's been lots of snuggling and chasing balls and walks and swimming ever since. We thought we wanted a pittie girldog, 'cause that's what mama had when she was a kid, but then we met Chummers, and well, the rest is history. He's the only dog we saw that day at the shelter. He's so pretty the police make their sirens WHOOP and lean out the door to say, "that's a goodlookin' dog you got there." He tolerates any and all kinds of smooshing. He loves it when we rub his face. His favorite strangers are little kids and old folks, especially old ladies who pet him gently and say, "you look just like the Petey dog, from 'Little Rascals!'"

Bio: Chumley has appeared on Animal Precinct! It was the story of what happened to him when he was a puppy and his first owner tried to kill him. The ASPCA officers saved his life, and the vets helped him get better, and the behaviorists taught him some skills. And then we adopted him, and he learned more stuff and ate lots of treats and chewed up some stuffies and went to the dog park a lot and he decided maybe he could relax because he was going to be our good dog forever.
