Arrival Story:
We found the breeder on line. Penny is a Miniature Labradoodle and normally the wait for one is over a year. The breeder had just decided to place Penny. She was originally going to keep her as a breed dog but she turned out to be too small for that; the runt of the litter. She was four months old by then. We decided we wanted her after the breeder described her and emailed us her photo. Everyone told us we were crazy for adopting a dog without seeing it first but I had a feeling she was meant to be with us. She had to be flown across the country from Washington State to New York. She was as happy as could be when we picked her up at the airport. She arrived on the night of the lunar eclipse and the moon/sun was shining in the window all the way home from the airport. So, we named her "Penumbra" (moon shadow), but always call her "Penny" for short. She's been the best dog we could ever imagine.

Today is my birthday! I'm hoping to get lots of gifts and treats. My family better be nice to me today, or I'll do something really bad like go to the bathroom on the living room carpet. Or maybe I'll just bark.
