Arrival Story:
We met him in a shelter called Bark Avenue and he decided to adopt us. He'd already had two owners before us, even though he was only 14 months old.
Bio:
Dylan is a sweet, handsome, intelligent dog. We are his third owners, so he was nervous of being left when we first got him. Over time, he has become more confident, and also more loving and attached to us.
We started doing agility class with him in 2006. At first, he couldn't see the point, but then he suddenly got the idea and has lots of fun doing it. Sometimes he gets so excited that he'll give little woofs under his breath as he runs the course, or whimper when he has to wait his turn.
In 2008 (and a bit of 2007 and 2009), he was a therapy dog, with an organization called Love On 4 Paws, visiting sick children and adults in hospital. It was a rewarding experience, but eventually he gave us signs that he didn't want to do it. He loves his close friends dearly, but is shy with most strangers, and I think the constant flow of new people was uncomfortable for him.
